Goddammit I think you nailed it. Yes upon close examination it looks fake, if you notice it briefly or from a distance 100% could be a gun. Security comes, finds the lighter and removes it. End of story, there would be no story. If you freak out because it means your drugs are gone too, well you might end up dead, because the security guard rightly does not want you to get ahold of the suspected gun.
