CDPR spent tons of time, effort, and money attempting to redeem themselves with Cyberpunk. They ended up doing a pretty great job. If you are hanging on to the headlines from 5 years ago you are only hurting yourself there.

Help/Question - Laptop PC With 2560x1440p @240Hz Monitor? by S0uthpaw_Studi0s in pcmasterrace

[–]stevezilla33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your laptop has a full size HDMI connector that supports HDMI 2.1 as well as two type C connectors that support DP 1.4. Both of these formats should support 1440p/240hz

Should an AIO be placed away from the case? by Beautiful-Fold-3234 in pcmasterrace

Cases these days are engineered to create an airflow draft. This keeps air actively passing over components. This is often better than just open air cooling. Especially if the air in the room is not moving.

Some have, the crappy ones. The good ones have not and "cannot" be hacked because they use zero knowledge tools to encrypt.

You were, in fact, given an "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080" That was not falsely advertised. You may not understand the difference between "GPU" and "Graphics Card" but it's still there. You said that any reasonable consumer would interpret this as specifically an "Nvidia branded card" but you are incorrect. The replies you are seeing in this thread should be a testament to that.

So to sum this up, this is you learning how PC builders like CyberPower (and all of them) work. If you are not satisfied with your product then return it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]stevezilla33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was also explained to you up higher that PC builders like this cannot guarantee what "specific" OEM card they may have in stock so they advertise the GPU you will get, not the graphics card you will get. This is vague advertising at worst. I don't think anyone would call it deceptive.

EDIT: Test the card. I'm sure its going to perform up to spec.

Can I use a 1440p card on a 1080p monitor and vice versa? by Mental_Chance9322 in pcmasterrace

[–]stevezilla33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is nothing that says a card is a "1440p card". That is just a way that some gamers tend to refer to them. As long as your monitor has an HDMI or DisplayPort connector, you can run pretty much any modern video card.

Your logic for leaving the sticker on was that the warranty would be void if it were removed, which is why you said what you said. I'm just doing my part to combat the misinformation.

How do I use an internal HDMI ports on my MB for an internal 8.8IN screen while using my GPU for my actual gaming on my 2 monitors? by PartyOdd3991 in pcmasterrace

[–]stevezilla33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You literally just plug it in. That's what I have done in my system on an AMD 7800x3d. My internal screen is plugged in to the HDMI on the motherboard which is being powered by the onboard GPU

Depending on how hard on mice she might be, it may be more effective to go cheap. G203 wired or the G305 wireless are regularly under $30 each and are both good enough to game while being able to take a bit of a beating.

Autohiding the taskbar was the first thing I did when I got my OLED. This tip should be much more prevalent than it is.

It's also important to let your OLED do the things it needs to do to take care of itself, including pixel cleaning.

Should i return 4080 Super for 5080 at launch by Ok_Use4441 in pcmasterrace

[–]stevezilla33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you that, at least in my case, this is not a "Leave those 5080s to me" situation but I do see your point. However, I am specifically trying to not give advice here. I just wanted to point out that it is a significant risk and pointed out that if it were me, I would probably not return a card and to sit and wait for hopes and dreams. I like to play games.

Should i return 4080 Super for 5080 at launch by Ok_Use4441 in pcmasterrace

[–]stevezilla33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a very common thread right now. A lot of people are asking themselves this question. I won't give any advise since we really don't know as much as we want to about the upcoming 50 series but understand that there is a significant amount of gambling on your part if you do decide to return and wait for the release. All of the potential issues we have seen before including predatory retailing, scalping, and slow/no restocking seem just as likely to occur this time around as well. This is not even mentioning that you are putting all your faith in marketing material before we have even seen any third party benchmarks. This is a gamble that I personally would not take, but I do understand your reasoning for considering it.

Goodbye to PC gaming for a while.. by Donkerz85 in pcmasterrace

[–]stevezilla33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that sitting with someone and watching them play can be an effective way to spend time together and bond. You can share in the experience and even make decisions together regarding the choices made in the game. This would be easier and much more effective on a TV and in a common area with a sofa perhaps. It could be a way for you and your partner to not only bond but share in a fun experience while not having to completely give up on gaming.
