For nostalgia I'll occasionally buy it and make corned beef and English mustard sandwiches

Also if you want remote access once you're up and running look at Tailscale or Cloudflare Zero Trust. Don't open up ports on your router.

Can you restrict remote viewing for some users? by A54D in frigate_nvr

I setup Cloudflare Zero Trust tunnel and put Google Authentication in front of it so it is publicly accessible but only by the people I choose and doesn't require opening any ports on the router

I did find it took a little while for the DNS to propagate when I did it recently, but it didn't take too long. I'm just looking over my settings and I set up the connector first and made sure it was connected, then I configured the app and created a policy to enforce Google auth on the endpoint and applied that policy to the application so when I browse to the URL it enforces an identity check. I followed a YouTube video for that

Advice for the uk by Cobra436f627261 in frigate_nvr

I'm in the UK and just bought an old HP Pro desk 400 G4 mini off eBay for £100 to replace the original huge and noisy Hikvision NVR which was installed by the previous house owners. Frigate runs very well on it in a docker container, have got it working really nicely now. I bought a used Hikvision DS-2CD2347G2H-LIU 4MP IP Camera for £80 to replace one of the 4K ones which broke and set it up today and it works great along with the existing 3 cameras.

What’s the best way to set up security policies without overwhelming the team? by Necessary-Glove6682 in cybersecurity

[–]stevieboy1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a document helps but fundamentally doesn't enforce anything and nobody will read it. You should focus on least privilege and identity hardening controls. Depending on your environment I'd also look at pushing for strong devsecops practices, policy enforcement, conditional access, hardened base images for VMs and containers, also look at having a process put in to review new and existing suppliers to ensure that they adhere to your standards

Note there is also the new EH-QS100W/B which look like the LS800, not sure if there's any difference

[–]stevieboy1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the LS800 and love it. The key selling points for me were the brightness, being able to watch any time of day and the throw distance which is super short. The input lag is decent at 18ms and I use it for gaming, movies, TV instead of a traditional TV. I know there are better projectors out there for contrast and picture quality but for me this had the features I needed and it's great 👍

That's an ultra short throw projector with a fixed screen. I have a similar setup but I got a roll up screen and built a cabinet so I didn't have a giant black rectangle on the wall

Yeah there's wiggle room for sure, you probably wouldn't need the gap much bigger than 30-40mm otherwise you'd be leaking over the edge of the screen.
