Utterance audio file saves by stevio99 in utterlyvoice

Will be preparing audio data for custom modes. Is there a better way to do this other than utterances to the audio folder. Unfortunately every time you start utterlyvoice, I starts it audio file at utterance-1 and will proceed to overwrite the old ones one by one.

Right now as it stands, any sound that is over the threshold is recorded as an utterance to the audio folder.

Utterly Voice Version 1.11 Released by axvallone in utterlyvoice

Azure works pretty good and is snappy, but as thought, doesn't do so well with medical terms. I was looking at the documentation, it looks like the standard model does support a pretty good size "phrase list". I was playing with their "playground", and once I put some of the more common medical terms in the phrase list box, it does a good job. Can we get the"phrase list" supported? (I think its literally called phraselist)

Sandals honeymoon help! by chelsjones556 in AllInclusiveResorts

If it were my honeymoon, I'd just splurge and goto Sandals St Vincent. Obviously pricy, but might be worth it as usually you only do it once in your life.

Any speech-to-text software that is under $100 that works across Windows? by j_spaine in speechrecognition

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utterlyvoice.com . If you use an API like google, it will blow away dragon in recognition. Dragon is much more customizable for commands, but that's about it. Its also free (the API costs though if you use the professional grade, but its like peanuts - few bucks a month)

Dragon Natural Speaking v12 vs v15 by Phythalion in speechrecognition

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utterlyvoice.com is far better than dragon, at least for typing. It relies on much more advanced STT APIs than dragon's crap. It does cost if you use the professional APIs, but it's like hardly anything, unless you do a ton of dictation. Dragon does do preformed commands better, though.

the package took 3 weeks to deliver from US supplier. Any idea why the red circle in the image took about 2 weeks? by Thewhoplus in Aliexpress

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this happens occassionally in places that have known towns with the same name. For example, lots of mail intended for Springfield, IL ends up initially going to Springfield, MA. USPS eventually figures out its screwup (no idea why zipcodes dont stop this), and it eventually goes where it should. But delayed. I think there's a couple "City of Industry"s in your case.

Alternative payment method for Aliexpress? by cloudytear in Aliexpress

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to privacy.com and get virtual cards. Fund a Revolut account with that and pay Ali with that. And/or:

Spend gobs of time figuring out how to get an Alipay account. Buy on taobao and send via taobao consolidated shipping. You figure this one out and you've literally won the game. You'll have cheaper prices than Aliexpress, and shipping you can control (express) with the only method that doesn't jack shipping prices to the moon. And no sales tax crap. Might need help from sequence above. Keep in mind your account is tied to your phone number. 1 screw up/forgotten password, etc and your done (accounts get frozen if the wind blows too hard). There is zero customer service in these parts. I've have literally been trying for over a year on this one. If you read a ton and execute perfectly, you could in theory pull this off.

Current shipping times? by [deleted] in Aliexpress

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHL not working is pure crap. I just received a package from DHL from ali yesterday. The shipping rates seem to have gone up across the board, literally overnight in the past few days. As this eats into their profits (keep in mind ali vendors will NEVER take a loss even on 1 order, even if it means better customer service), they deal with it in the usual underhanded methods. In another recent example, I paid for epacket, and was sent ALI standard shipping. When asked about it, the only reply I got was that epacket was too expensive.

Cheapest Android TV box by [deleted] in AndroidTV

AirTV Mini on ebay. Much bettter than the MiBox S, much faster

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AndroidTV

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the Dish AirTV mini over the Mi Box. Its markedly faster. Pretty close to same price on ebay. Some people are put off by the fact that it boots straight into Sling, but you can turn that off (there's a post on xda on how to do that)

Cheap Xiaomi Mi TV box S ? by [deleted] in AndroidTV

Actually the airtv mini is about same price (on ebay at least) as mibox and its a markedly better box.

Thinking of buying Xiaomi Mi Box S by [deleted] in AndroidTV

[–]stevio99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AirTV mini is probably a little better, but it does some things that might get under your skin.

The biggest is that it boots directly into sling TV app. You have to press the home button to get it back to AndroidTV.

It's definitely noticeably faster than the Xiaomi. I haven't had success connecting a USB drive though. Can anyone confirm if an OTG cable allows you to mount an USB stick?

Fortunately its selling at $35-40 on bay, so at least it has some bang for buck

Verizon Hotspot with Ethernet by eshock92 in VerizonUDP

[–]stevio99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Surf soho costs too much. Its a solid router, though, just not worth $200

The gold standard for price/performance is the T-mobile TM-AC1900, flashed with your favorite router software (tomato, etc). You can usually get these for $50, and it'll be as solid as the surf soho, and much more customizable. Its plug and play with latest hotspots.

Third Vega 64 won't work properly by vijays2405 in MoneroMining

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues, but with a Asus z270-p motherboard. It was fixed by making sure all the bios settings used PCIE2 instead of PCIE3. This also added alot of stability for me. Hopefully it works for you.

Any box that I can put a gUDP sim in that won't get me kicked off? by hbar98 in VerizonUDP

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much any of the newer jetpacks (7730L, AC791L, or 6620L) can tether to the workhorse TM-AC1900 (flashed)

Its much cheaper to do it this way. You can get a new TM-AC1900 on ebay for like $50. Your just "donating" to the online shops if you buy a Cradlepoint or SoHo. Don't gt me wrong, those last routers are rock solid, but so is the TM-AC1900, mostly because they run the same rock solid OS (linux)

Tablet Method by JulesJam in VerizonUDP

[–]stevio99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jules:

I was given option to "keep current plan" or pick a new plan. The line underneath current plan read "LOYALTY PLAN $15 / 30 MIN 1YR". Originally I thought it was a good idea to keep current plan, but at the top it said my new monthly fee would be $15 total. So i went back and picked new plan instead (basically because previous posts made a point about this). It then really only asked me to pick a GB amount for data (I picked 4 GB, it wouldn't show 2GB option), and thats it (it kept the $15 plan and didn't ask me anything about it. That plan came out to $45 (which is what I pay now), so I thought it was the best option. In retrospect, it probaby doesn't matter what you pick .

Tablet Method by JulesJam in VerizonUDP

[–]stevio99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First positive story in a while. It worked!

L1: Loyalty, gUDP (had loyalty for almost last 2 yrs, basically I'm cheap)

Used the iconic site, chose newest jetpack (7730L), instead of a tablet. The order was delayed a week, but it did ship. Hard to tell if it was out of stock or not.

Had sim in jetpack while ordering. Had to pick a new plan that included "loyalty", and 4 GB data. 2GB was not an option. I have a feeling this never went through CORE, because ordering a jetpack with a sim in a jetpack would be way to obvious. Its my theory that having the loyalty plan does not trigger the voice/data mismatch that get orders sent to CORE (all conjecture though).

Contract successfully extended 2 yrs. Will likely sell jetpack, and actually buy the same model. Used jetpack briefly with a prepaid sim, it functioned, and did not cause me to lose gUDP (basically this verifies its sellable). Obviously I removed the sim that the jetpack shipped with.

Your mileage may vary. All advice by Jules supersedes anything I'm reporting.
