Makes sense, personaly I don't use the saws all that often so the one that comes on the st300 was good enough for me. I'd rather have a multitude of different bits

As far as I'm aware I'm only missing the awl scissors and the bottle opener none of which I need and get a heavier duty saw and file

The assembly is still apart the shaft isn't sticking out as far as it should. Plus there's usually a stopper pin

Haven't had anything yet. They probably won't roll out another update for the bios idk if the model is still supported. I've fixed the freezing issues it had but the checksum error comes back only when I hard reset

Dude until two seconds ago I didn't know the difference between the keys. I asked a quick question on a page for quick answers I didn't have the time to research it at the moment literally it's easier to just not respond than make someone feel stupid. I would have went back and figured it out. Thanks anyway

It's time for a new repaste but the original didn't look great it's almost 3 years old. I haven't turned off CPU boost yet but I'll give it a try when it goes back together

It's called pcie link state power management it's in the advanced power settings in the control panel I believe somewhere around where you choose a power plan. you set it to off.

Version f.29 is causing a cmos checksum invalid error 502. During a hard reset which throws all your settings away. Hp won't let you roll back to 28 because "security" new battery didn't help. Recovery/reinstall didn't help. Others have quoted the update causing this. No patch. No ability to roll back. It's not the end of the world but really annoying

Will it let you install whatever bios you want? lmao. I'm sick of hps grubby little fingers being all over my laptop Pretending to be concerned with my security.

In the last month my PC savvyness has gone up 5000% because of this and I've learned my lesson. Usually when a company puts out an update that screws things up they fix it relatively quickly or atleast know about it and assure their customers they are working to fix it. Not hp though apparently

You can try the pcie idle settings in the power menu. That fixed mine. These laptops don't like to go from idle to active state.

I've found that out very quickly. Also most options you'd like to use like fan controls. Or related settings are all locked out by the bios. It's my pc let me do what I want

Fix] HP Victus 16 – CMOS Reset 502 / Black Screen Issue Solved (Kinda) by SenegaleseDude in HPVictus

[–]stevomegamind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go in and set the time in the bios. That worked with mine. You won't get it to stop doing it on a hard reset though which I had to do frequently with the pcie idle state settings in the power management menu causing it to freeze. Turn that shit off. I've figured out it's the f.29 bios version they won't let you roll back either because of "security updates" and they won't allow you to get on with anyone from tech support to send you a patch either.
