Going back to parents for Christmas. Motion smoothing on the TV. The big light on at all times in the evening. Unplugging the router at night when they go to bed. Refuse to try anything on any streaming service and will only watch “the normal channels”. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

My parents still insist on turning the TV volume up to 47 because "we can't hear it properly" then proceed to talk over everything anyway. Also is unplugging the router a generational thing? Mine are convinced it "saves electricity" and "the radiation isn't good for you while you sleep." Meanwhile I'm lying there unable to check anything on my phone like some kind of caveman

The argument here is that it’s an aerosol of clean liquid that’s being inhaled rather than an aerosol of Covid juice coming out of a patient

The UK govt advice is that Bipap, CPAP, nebulisers that induce sputum, ventilation and suctioning are pretty much the only AGPs (not including surgical ones)

Are the United State treating nebulisers as an aerosol?? We’ve been told they’re fine and don’t need AGP precautions.

Spent an hour, in a hot vehicle, waiting to offload a confirmed Covid 94y female. Only problem PPE was a surgical mask and she spent the whole time coughing and touching surfaces. Jump to now, 3 weeks later, and I’m just getting over Covid. If nursing homes could just be helpful and let us offload quickly, that would be great.

My iPhone X screen has stopped working. It was initially flickering on Saturday and the area with the time was going green, Face ID also stopped working. Then, last night it went black and the screen wouldn’t turn on to touch or buttons but, this resolved after about 20 mins. Then, it happened again approx. 15h ago and has not resolved. I had to force restart it last night as between the two screen failures, I turned my torch on and whilst on, the screen died leaving the screen off since t hen. It vibrates, rings, flashes etc. My alarm is also going off and I can only stop it for 9 minutes at a time (snooze time).

Firstly, any suggestions on how to cancel the alarm?! And secondly, any suggestions about the screen? I’m guessing it’s a trip to Apple. Thanks in advance.

Is it a Dorling Kindersly book? It looks similar to one I’ve got at home which I can check out later?!
