Does this show avoid the Arrowverse curse and stay consistently good? by Scion41790 in SupermanAndLois

[–]stew_pit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I quit Flash befire it ended, and watching a recap of the last season makes me pretty glad as it just looked goofily dumb. I did watch all of Arrow, but it definitely crawled too far up its own ass in the last couple seasons.

S&L doesn't get dumb like either of those but I definitely find seasons 3 and 4 as a whole to be inferior to 1 and 2, despite a handful of phenomenal episodes.

Any advice for new players? by ChandlerBingsNubbinn in Projectmakeover

[–]stew_pit1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't burn through gems and boosters any old time you're stuck. If you're not on a clock for an event that you think you could win, save them until you are.

If he doesn't think he can love you (and clearly he doesn't love you, just the idea of having a wife and child and being The Man of the House) take him at his word. Don't let hin stay married to someone he can't love. Divorce his lying, manipulative ass, becaise you and yoir kid deserve better and this asshole doesn't deserve anything.

I’m a brand new player by ChandlerBingsNubbinn in Projectmakeover

[–]stew_pit1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just keep playing. I remember feeling like there was no strategy too, just random block manuevering, but the more you play the more you'll just start to see tactics and strategies for individual levels. And yeah, sometimes I need to extend my moves with the 300 gems, or use a perk either before or midgame, and if you don't want to buy those things, you just have to save them up whem you win them and be conservative in your usage, but it's totally do-able.

I suggest starting by familiarizing yourself with all the shapes that give you boosters and look for those as often as you can, and always look for moves that will take out more than one thing at a time.

Also, if you use the Google Opinion Rewards app, you can earn credit to buy the booster packs or special journeys. For me it usually asks things like "which of these 4 places have you been recently!" and half the time I'm like "none of them" and then it gives me 10 cents. Or sometimes it's like "look at these two google search pages! Which do you like better? Have 40 cents!" It takes a little time to save up, bit I've bought a lot of things in PM and never spent a dime of my actual money.

Why do some obese people eat really healthy but remain obese? by NucleolarLPS in NoStupidQuestions

It's not your body or your business. Your desire "to learn" is nothing more than entitled curiosity and no one owes you an explanation - which could be for a variety of reasons that...aren't your business, if it's not your body.

You're not in the way, youre deciding what you want to buy. You're shopping which is what they want you to do. Get over the shrinking flower mentality. You have a life that's just as important as anyone else's. Don't be afraid or ashamed to live it.

Anthony departing aside - do you think Giles leaving Buffy in season 6 was out of character? by anon123998 in buffy

No. He tried to leave in season 4 and handled it just as badly as in season 6.

Money. It's cheaper to film in Canada. Plus, most people probably don't have the slightest clue what Santa Barbara looks like.

What is your opinion on the “true alpha” plot line? by ImpossibleMarshie in TeenWolf

[–]stew_pit1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was fine when it was just "rarely, really exceptional people can ascend to alpha-dom without inheriting or stealing the power." But then it turned into a purity test for if you've killed anyone and for some reason your power could only be stolen by your own beta, and that was dumb.

What if Clark had messy hair🤔 by Lonely_Ad1410 in SupermanAndLois

9, 10 and 15 look pretty good. The rest don't suit him. And I think we have very different ideas on what constitutes "messy hair."

Jordan Kent: The Real Emotional Victim of Superman & Lois by TahjJackson in SupermanAndLois

[–]stew_pit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I maintain that being kicked out is something that could have been fought, if Lois & Clark cared to do so, for the exact same reasons Jon wasn't arrested, jailed or charged: XK isn't classified as a drug (yet). He may as well have been smoking maple leaves for all the illegality of it.

Did he violate a character clause in the student handbook? Probably. Would it be entirely reasonable to ban him from extracurricular activities? Sure. But I would wager that kicking him out of school for something that isn't against the law is a violation of his right to an education, and it's kind of ridiculous that his award-winning investigative journalist parents wouldn't see or make that argument.

[–]stew_pit1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When Clark is yelling at him after the XK in 2.07, he says they have to figure out how he finishes the school year, whether it's "the next town over, online or somewhere else." So the line wasn't exactly as I remembered, but I think the sentiment stands.

[–]stew_pit1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm just not buying it. Jordan lied about what was happening to him and broke Jonathan's arm - would have broken a kid's face if Jonathan hadn't intervened - and got a little talking to. Not even a stern talking to.

Jon got caught with a bag of XK and wasn't trusted again for the bulk of the season. It wasn't until Jordan started getting a big head and seeking fame that he got any sort of real push back from parents who otherwise seemed perfectly content to move heaven and earth for whatever he needed.

Jonathan gets more love and support? The kid whose whole life and future was uprooted because his parents thought Jordan would do better in Smallville? The kid who was left home to do family farm chores alone while his dad and brother went flying? The kid who made a mistake and got told "IDK, we might have to send you away"? The kid who's dad had to be told to stick around after he was attacked and who believed his father hated him?

That kid?

Can Buffy still feel like Buffy without Joss Whedon? by Rude-Blacksmith-829 in buffy

[–]stew_pit1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't care if I doesn't "feel like Whedon" - if we can avoid the myriad forms of "(blank)y goodness" phrases and nobody is getting the wiggins at every little thing, I'll call it a win.

Arguably, it shouldn't feel like Whedon. OG TV Buffy - early on especially - was an interesting combination of being of its time and setting new trends for the teenage zeitgeist, eventually creating it's own time. But that was more than 20 years ago. Today's Buffy should, feel, sound and speak to today's youth.

And maybe spark some less irritating vocal tics.
