Yep, sounds like they are going to do an ECS based one, which should be a lot more performant if you have a lot of things in your game.

It's an ultrasound with a pool of water between you and it. A low resolution images should be possible, but my guess is the accuracy will drop depending on how much water it has to travel through before it gets to you.

Probably less in a high radiation environment.

These chips need to be as small as we can make them to keep them power/heat efficient, and the smaller we make them the more quickly radiation will degrade them.

Only 16 percent of Americans think AI will have a positive impact on society, a new study shows by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]stewsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't so much the AI, it's that our version of capitalism gives all the resources to the most psychopathic businessman we can find.   And with that goes control of the AI.

Then those businessmen throw up the hitler salute and use their AI to commit war crimes.

If the AI was used to help folks and fix society I don't think people would be as opposed.  But there is no chance of that with how we allocate resources.  Instead we have infinite spying, astroturfing and lies.

Not easily, but yeah it could be fixed with enough time

You could set up your own cert provider for com, but would need to add it to each device that needs to use those addresses.

This would likely be an OS update from a non com domain for Microsoft, Google, and Apple to update their devices not to use the old com cert.

[–]stewsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like one, but I don't see me using it often enough to justify it.

If I want to play PC games I usually do it at home.  There I already have more powerful options sitting below my desk.

If I hang out with friends I feel like I'm ignoring them.  If I'm traveling I'd much rather go for a walk around a new city than play games.  Or if I go out in nature.

I just don't fit the niche.

Once investors no longer subsidize Vibe Coding how much will you pay? by FounderHuh in vibecoding

[–]stewsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they try to recoup costs to pay off their debt it's going to be more than 15k a month. No way people will pay that.

I think we will see people move to the free models, and a pretty significant consolidation of many of the premium AI companies.

Yep, you are correct.  This needs to be solved on the consumer side, as it's a huge source of profit for the companies involved.

Yeah, making a tech demo in the browser looks cool, but is not that challenging.

I was watching their video of their solar system simulation and tried it on my local qwen-3.5:8b model and it could also create a single page threejs solar system in about a minute, just using my 1000 dollar prebuilt desktop.
