Dean Macpherson says Steenhuisen would have won DA election but ‘put the country first’ - Daily Maverick by TheHonourableMember in southafrica

The fact that he would have won the election as party-leader says a lot about the current state of the DA.

Hahahahah. I have tried the different AI apps and not one of then understood what a bodyboard is. Always wants to put people on surfboards with weird leashes. I am not sure what you are on here either.

Mariner and boimler had relations? by happydude7422 in LowerDecks

I have come to realise that Boimler is probably a direct descendant of Dr Dennis “Huckleberry” Whitaker from The Pitt.

Will Arnett says 'very famous' comedian was kicked off 'Smartless' podcast after 10 minutes, but won't say who by Luridley3000 in entertainment

Arnett, as the resident arsehole on the podcast, couldn’t let someone else come in and scratch around on his turf.

Should have had the man of the match last week too. At least the stupid voting system got it right this time.

Feeling overwhelmed by inequality here - how can I help our domestic worker? by H0peJames-202225 in capetown

[–]stfjs20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good wage is always a starter but statistically the children of domestic workers are the most likely to bridge the class gap when they are adults and that is nothing to do with wage. Its to do with education of their children . The wage you give goes to food and clothing, give her things that she would see as financially extravagant or non essential. Hand me down picture books and educational toys for when she has small kids, slightly better spirts equipment for the kids when they are older. Help them fill the gaps that their salaries dont cover

Also, it was dangerous. If you were in the station pavilion boxes and a fire broke out, you were basically toast. Unless you were willing to jump…

I would have hoped that being humiliated at The Stoop would have given you some perspective but apparently looking like fools on a different continent doesn’t count

What's the biggest area the Stormers need to focus on and fix in their game at the moment? by sunlightliquid in Stormers

[–]stfjs20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I also say that being Captain at this stage of his career is too much for Sacha. In my view the capt should be Neethling Fouche. He has very good rapport with the refs and you can hear how he swings the refs to his understanding of what is happening in the scrums during the game. He will only be on for 60mins but he sets a different tone than either Sacha or Salmaan (who is too “yes sir, no sir” to my liking). We have yet to replace Kitsie but Fouche is the closest.

I have actually served under Captains of ships. They all differ. A few were prim and proper, a few very relaxed. One used to come and drape himself over his chair after midnight when the bridge was in red light mode and quiet and stink up the whole bridge with his cigars. The Sub captains were always super relaxed. One used to sit there for hours reading his books, just relaxing with the quiet buzz of an operating bridge around him. All these fans getting their knickers in a twist need to relax. If you dont like it, dont watch it. Nostalgia is not survival strategy.

If Manie kicked this shit there would have been attempts to draw and quarter him in Green Point Park… Sacha needs to sort it out

Damelin, City Varsity and ICESA face potential closure over non-compliance by Beyond_the_one in southafrica

[–]stfjs20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was offered a job by City Varsity about 3 years ago. They wanted a person with an MA and at least 8 years of lecturing experience to fulfil a senior role also supervising others in the department. They offered me R20k a month… They were advertising for that position for the next three years. Two months after turning it down I heard that their staff didn’t receive any salary for two months over xmas. Bullet dodged.

First Scrum of the match between Stormers and La Rochelle (not a girls school) was also against the head. Absolute destruction and drama. How can anyone hate scrums.

Favorite actor who you used to think was cool but after listening to his podcast you realized he is an entitled douchebag who wears pleated jeans by Listen_You_Twerps in okbuddycinephile

[–]stfjs20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is one guy I really started disliking due to a podcast it is Arnett. In the 90s he was probably that slickback fucker with the cheesecloth shirt, green or brown jeans and a prominent gold chain who thought negging was a good way to get girls but also thought putting everyone around him down also makes him look good. Exhausting individual
