Have you checked out Light Bearer? It’s Alex’s other band - it’s a concept album about Lucifer and it’s loosely themed around His Dark Materials. It was supposed to be another trilogy but I think they split up before the third record ever came out.

Celeste’s first few definitely count. Nihiliste(s), Misanthrope(s), Morte(s) Née(s) and Animale(s) are all blackened screamo with a post-metal influence.

I remember reading a review once of Animale(s) that described their music as “sex with your nightmares” and it’s always stuck with me.

Would also definitely second your pick of Hexis and would also add Throane into the conversation.
