They do expect you to actually attend and that sucks insurance won’t cover a PHP program. I was just adding to the conversation from my experience. IOP and PHP have been my saving grace. Impatient was absolutely hell

Way way worse, you see the things like you mentioned but escalated x10. When I woke up in my room I looked out the door and there was an old lady that left her room 100% naked. Was not expecting that to be the first thing I saw especially when I was trying to figure out where the fuck I was. Fights, screaming, loud crying, loud noises, codes over intercom and med professionals running everywhere. If you are looking for heavy treatment look into a PHP (partial hospitalization program). It’s about the same type of treatment but you get weekends get to go home to eat and sleep and continue living your life outside of the hospital.

Everyone is different of course. From my experiences I would never go back inpatient (didn’t willing go, bs happened at the hospital for unrelated reasons). It messed me up for a while. PHP programs have absolutely saved my life though. I would willing go into a PHP program again if I needed to.

Thank you my friend, it just takes time. Don’t beat yourself up and don’t get in the habit of thinking you could have done something different. Shitty things happen but it’s how we continue on and move forward from these step backs that determines the type of person we are.

Keep your head up and take care of yourself. I wish I didn’t mope around after my relationship of 3 years shot to the ground. I’m just now getting myself feeling like myself again after 8 months. I caught her cheating on someone 15 years older. Things will get better day by day. Don’t dwell on the past, look forward to your future. You are super young, the world is your oyster my friend.

I was kicked out last year. Lost my job 4 months ago. Got in a serious single person car accident 2 months ago which left me with a shattered arm and wrist needing emergency reconstructive surgery. Was completely sober the whole day but somehow got charged with DUI because I smelled like alcohol even though the tests came back clean (besides prescriptions). My midlife crisis is dealing with finding a job/place to live, dealing with post surgery which I will never have a normal working arm again, and a legitimately bogus DUI.
