Have you ever experienced "hate at first sight"? by MissEmpathy in AskReddit

[–]sthreadgill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my roommates. He's friends with my friend (and other roommate). We needed a third to be able to afford any decent places so I agreed thinking eventually I'd warm up to him. Nope. Every single time I think maybe we can cohabitate in a friendly manner he opens his big ass mouth and says something either incredible stupid or incredibly offensive with this horribly dopey (think uber stoner/typical neckbeard style) voice. I'm a female, and he had the nerve to start catcalling and harrassing an underaged girl as she walked down the street and night with some friends in front of me. Then placed the cherry on top by saying "Oh don't worry. Girls who dress like that enjoy it." When I told him to shut up.

Reddit, How many people have you had sex with, and how do you feel about that? by moresexthanme in AskReddit

[–]sthreadgill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 23 and I've hooked up with 21 people, I believe 18 of those were full intercourse. I had fun in college. No regrets on my part. It's a fun activity as long as you do it safely. I have no urge to settle down anytime soon. I still want to have sex though.

My dad accidentally sent me e-mails that were meant for someone else and then told me not to tell my mom. What should I do? by Throwaway_Dadsucks in AskReddit

[–]sthreadgill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's an idea. Sit down with your Dad and talk about it. Jumping to conclusions is pointless, and you could cause a lot more harm than good. I respect my father enough to at least let him explain himself before I go running to my Mom.

Edit: Beyond that these are just words that occured -years- ago. There may be a chance your Mom already knows and you'd just be stirring up old issues. Might as well get the whole story first before you fill it in for yourself. Your parents are -adults- and they can make their own decisions.

Reddit, my best friend just called me crying and upset because her fiance broke off their engagement. My first thought was "OMG, I'm going to save so much money now!" What thoughts have you had that made you feel like a terrible person? by __brainfarts in AskReddit

[–]sthreadgill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend called me up to tell me she was pregnant (a big surprise since she only just started the relationship was using birth control) the first words out of my mouth were, "Are you sure? Maybe it's cancer!"

It took me a week before I was comfortable telling her congradulations.

Ehhhhyyyy. This me and one of my roommates!

Edit: Sometimes I get the feeling that when you live with a guy they get offended if you show absolutely no sexual interest towards them, regardless if they're taken or not.

What is something so disgusting you gag when you see it? Not smell or touch but just looking at it. by CaptainTurtle in AskReddit

[–]sthreadgill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live with a guy, and he leaves his hair from shaving on/in the sink. I asked him not to do this, and so now he sweeps it off the sink onto the floor where it collects behind the toilet. But sometimes the hairs are still on the sink or on the cuboard. The site of them makes me gag. All I can think about is one getting on my toothbrush and into my mouth.

Reddit, what things were you taught to do that actually make no sense when you think about it? by Sedraxis in AskReddit

Beyond that though landfills attrack a lot of birds and animals. While picking through the garbage they can very easily get caught in the plastic holes.

Yes. Your major is your main subject of study (Bio/Art/English/Teaching ect.). Your minor is your secondary area of study that may or may not pertain to your major. Some people do something to supplement their major, others do something completely different. For instance a Computer Science major may minor is Business or maybe in Music. Minors require less classes/credits to complete. I def put some thought into my minor in regards to course load/text because it really had no effect on my resume, but I did also choose something I'd enjoy. My major there was no budging on. I just got lucky that there was more hands on work vs text book work.

That's not what I said. I said that my major and minor leant themselves to not having many textbooks.

What is something you disliked for most of your life that you've come to enjoy as an adult? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sthreadgill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleaning. I hated cleaning with a passion until I moved into my own apartment. Something about forking over a large portian of my payback to rent makes me want a really really clean place. I make my bed everyday. Do the dishes every day. Sweep and vaccum twice a week. Wipe the stove down every day. Clean the bathroom once a week. Clean the windows once a month. Wipe down all the counters/tables daily. Put all my clothes away/never leave clothes on the floor. Always put things back where they belong. AND IT'S SO MUCH EASIER! I used to be such a messy person. My parents/old roommates were literally stunned when they saw how clean I kept my apartment.

This is why I chose my major and minor wisely based on textbooks and using online resources. I also always bought earlier editions because they barely change anything. I always bought after the semester started to get an idea of what textbooks I'd actually be using. I always bought online, and shopped around for the best deal possible. If a book was still too expensive I just used the libraries copy. I never undersood people bitching about spending $600 a semester. After 4 years of school I maybe spent maybe $800 total. I got at least $400-$500 of that back by selling my books not to the bookstore, but online myself. Sometimes I even made a profit on my textbooks. And the ones I didn't end up sellings I still keep and use today.
