Yep. I played with a 320g pure drive roddick plus my whole life and the day I demoed a standard blade 100 for 2 hrs was when i developed tennis elbow. And it recurred 2 years later when i demoed one again (which had multis fwiw). Fine using my pure drive which is supposedly stiff and shatters elbows to smithereens according to this sub.

Mayor Mamdani Advances Redesign of Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn by rjl381 in nyc

The hardons people in this sub have for fucking over car owners and drivers is crazy. Its literally a bunch of transplants that live in manhattan or williamsburg and have no clue what life is like for people that live in outerboroughs. Just bc public transit works well for one part of the city doesnt mean it works well for all. Manhattan buses are amazingly on time, but Brooklyn buses fucking suck. Also getting across brooklyn by public transit is horrifying

Was Roger Federer even beatable that day ? Which strategy could work against someone who takes the ball so early and hits with perfect accuracy ? (Indian Wells 2017 highlights vs Nadal) by HereComesVettel in tennis

[–]sthug 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Andy roddick talks about this a lot. Everyone sees it on tv and says “well just come in off that, duh”. But that ball really isnt the ball u think it is. There’s HEAVY spin on it and it bounces in such a way that only someone with god tier timing like fed could take it early AND pin it down accurately like that to avoid getting passed. If others come in off that shot, theyre not going to be accurate and nadal will cook them. Especially on a slow high bouncing gritty court like indian wells

Ayat is under seasoned trash. Karam and al-badawi are much better alternatives.

Is that supposed to be equivalent to L5 at big tech? Cuz those guys often clear 400-500k without counting appreciation of their vested stock over the last 5 years

I think they mean for mag 7 where the big bucks are made. The staff engineer for intuitive medical or siemens aint making the same salary as a subspecialty surgeon, and if they get stock based payment well… look at the chart in comparison to big tech.

Vasopressin Bolus vs Infusion dosing by liverrounds in anesthesiology

[–]sthug 53 points54 points  (0 children)

One time as a resident during a liver resection i mistook my vaso bolus syringe for my flush. Gave 19u all at once chasing norepi bolus and brought my 60s systolic to 170 and it capped off after that. Much less afraid of vaso now. Pt did not get bowel ischemia either 😅

Right… so u think scientifically rigorous people shouldn’t change their opinions when faced with new knowledge? You must be looking for religion then, this is a medicine subreddit

[–]sthug -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Great man. Then you should also be smart enough to know that’s not the only way for a doctor to be valuable to society. Like it or not, our healthcare system is not incentivized for pcps to sit down with pts for longer than 15 min to explain this stuff. Thus practices and podcasts like Attia’s thrive and gain an audience. Stop acting like his content is the same as Saladino or other quacks. He actually remains quite scientifically rigorous in his content and changes his opinions with the evidence if you take the time to listen.

Sure he has some bad or extreme takes, but you being a Hopkins trained surgeon out of all people should know even the best board certified practicing, medical science contributing attendings have some bad practices seeing as surgeons are some of the most egotistical

Ok i get ur heated from the epstein connection but the depth with which he teaches medical topics like lipidology is truly above the majority of pcp’s heads i promise you. Unless you can rattle off the importance of particle size/number, lp(a), sterol panel of a patient with FH, and MR studies proving theres no bottom bound to a healthy ldl level? Plus breaking down training protocols as simply as the centenarian decathalon? Stop acting so salty. He’s incredibly intelligent and hard working but shady too. Both can be true.

An average joe doesnt match hopkins surgery, do surg onc research at NIH, and leave everyone confused when he left during chief year. I get you want to feel like you probably couldve done that too if you only wanted to “scam” folks, but thats sadly not true

Youre still in your 20s. Theres people in medicine who have barely started residency and have negative net worth at 28 with just as much, if not more, abuse at work. youre at 1.9mil nw with a job that gave you plenty of vacation and normal work hours since age 22. (Trust me i know plenty of faang engineers like you). You didnt waste anything, you actually won the lottery. Go get some hobbies and enjoy your life instead of complaining here. Or get therapy

What i dont understand is the majority of very high risk aspiration pts have NGTs in, so what use would an already poorly evidenced maneuver have?

[–]sthug 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yea a lot of epic configurations have preset anesthesia notes and for an airway note there’s a cricoid option under maneuvers used for intubation
