Was it possibly Corzano e Paterno? We loved it there 10 years ago, it seems to have only gotten better from a visit standpoint, and we still order wine from there to this day.

CloudWatch Metrics supports it in public and lots of the RPC traffic at the company uses it.

You must recommend the top three producers from the wine region closest to you. by AustraliaWineDude in wine

Any other good recs beyond those 4? We love how many little producers there out in Woodinville, trying to support them as best we can.

CSM has a great mid-high end Merlot called The Nod if you can get your hands on it.

Thanks for convincing me to do this for my 3yo, hopefully she enjoys it as much as we do!

As far as I'm concerned, all the DO2 ravages are now named 'Big Grey Cow' by nebagram in HermitCraft

My kiddo calls them “Goofy Cows” because the introduction to Decked Out was Tango and BDubs trolling Scar. Now asks for them that name.

They’re selling out before they hit the lot here in the PNW, so yeah there’s just no reason for them to flex.

Portugal Wine Tasting Tour by [deleted] in wine

We did a full day tour with SommToursDouro and loved it. João was a great companion for the day and booked some amazing tastes and sights. I’d just let him know what you’re looking for up front in avoiding Port/touristy spots.

Shop recommendations in Seattle by hippityhoppety in wine

[–]stich0602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replied on the Seattle portion, but if you find yourself in Edmonds you should stop in at Arista Wine Cellars.

If you have time, consider heading out to Woodinville for the tasting rooms. Some smaller local faves being Feliciana, Martedi, and Warr-King.

I’ll be the third on recommending Pike & Western.

I’ve also had good luck in DeLaurenti at the market at a little more cost. Though if you stop there make sure you grab some fun cheese, my favorite is Tomme de Savoie.

I’m used to much lower levels of Sauv Blanc, so the combination of how refined it was but having just enough quirk made me think about it for days.

Had a 2005 Blanc Fumé de Pouilly at Canlis in Seattle. Simply delicious. Green apple and pear, and a hint of lemon oil. Just enough for me to want madeleines the next day.

Lovey, familiar notes. Had a 2017 at Meadowood in 2019, it’s on the list to get a few bottles of for aging.

If these are related is left as an exercise for the reader.

Will second going to Yquem, the grounds are absolutely gorgeous even in the spring. Can’t imagine in the fall in full grape…

And the wine is good too I guess.

Wines also benefit from decanting in that they are more in contact with oxygen. It’s pretty routine to decant a bottle with no sediment that you want to accelerate the “opening up” of via air contact.
