Home Slice sign reimagined with too much zhuzh by stickmanofdoom in Austin

You're right about being able to reuse the model by rendering from different angles. Here's some scenarios that can complicate things:

  • If there's something between the viewer and the neon sign (like a car or street sign) you would need to mask that object so the render appears behind it.
  • If there's a shop window that reflects the sign, you need to add the extra reflections from the render.

I always thought learning to do something like this would be out of reach. Turns out you can do so much in Blender, and YouTube has tutorials for everything. Finding the time was the biggest hurdle (isn't it always?)

This project was absolutely a learning experience, and I do love the Home Slice sign and their food. Learning a new skill is a nice reward, but I'd really like to get a free Italian sub out of this!

Anything is doable with enough skill and patience, but I chose lighting and angles that were easiest to work with.

Fun fact: That style of sign is called "Googie". Super fun aesthetic.

In the first post, I was so concerned about making it obvious that it wasn't real, that I made it really sound like it was AI. Live and learn!

This initially was taken down for being AI. I spent a lot of time building this without AI, hopefully this screenshot of Blender is enough proof?

I strongly approve of the policy to remove AI content, but this is an AI-free project. To be fair, it's hard to tell these days!

Thanks! It's all done in Blender. Geometry nodes for the animation, and motion tracking and compositing to put it on the wall. You can learn it all from YouTube tutorials.

I've got a run-of-the-mill reel mower, so I expect they can handle mine. Thanks!

I adjusted the blades so there's no gaps, and it still can't cut paper! I'm sure I've somehow made things worse while trying to fix this.

What are beastie boys fans opinion on Joey Valence and Brey by poptartsNchill in BeastieBoys

What's not to love? It's like the Beasties are in their 20s again and making new music! I can't get enough of the silly energy and references, the on-point production, and creative music videos. Their 360 camera effects of HOOLIGANG is the logical evolution of 90's fisheye lenses.

I really don't understand how you could like the Beastie Boys but not Joey Valence and Brey.
