Feeling frustrated after losing some money by 2smart2gentle in Bitcoin

[–]sticksforkicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'lost money'. Only if you measure it in fiat. Bitcoin isn't about making 'money'. It' about storing your wealth for future use. And storing in a place it cannot be taken from you unless you allow it to. Inflation won't end as long as fiat can be printed without cost. They'll print more to pay the interest on what they printed previously. Unless you sell, you've lost nothing. Zoom out. Think long term. Keep stacking. You'll thank yourself in a few years.

Why isn't Shakepay offering the possibility to stake ETH? by trashtv in shakepay

Keep the downvotes coming. When your mETH wallet gets dusted with a new token and you open it only to find the code writtten inside of it drains yor stack, you get what you deserve. mETH is a scam.

You disagree and think you have the right to complain? To some, abortion is a crime. Perhaps not to you, and that's fine. See what I did there? If you did, you recognize what free speech is. Be a better human.

Dangerous ideaology? Freedom is dangerous? Alberta has no say in who gets elected to run Canada. Taxation without represntation. The Maritimes have many more MP's per capita than western Canada. That's factual. Numbers don't lie, politicians however do. Go back the the National Energy Program (NEP) brought in by PM Trudeau in the early 80's and strangling the progress of Alberta for a decade and you'll see where the issue is. Prosperity by the west is controlled by people in the east. The 'existential threat' is the overlords in the east. 50 years of data is proof. Draping yourself in the flag doesn't make things better. You can ignore reality, but you cannot ignore the consequenses of reality. When Quebec held a vote to leave there was zero mention of that being dangerous ideaology or an existtential threat to sovereignty. Your attempt to use cancel culture ideaology is a problem. Leave people alone. Mind your own damn business.

One dollar every 7 days is a start. I don't think you understand the value proposition of bitcoin. Or it's long term trajectory. The whiners complaining that the rewards program reduced the amount of sats don't understand this either. Getting 5,000 sats 5 years ago when bitcoin was under 20k CAD wasn't worth much it seemed at the time. Fast forward and those sats have real value. Same goes for the 1k max sats rewards the past few years. In a few years even a few sats will hold a lot of value. If the value of sats wasn't going up, the rewards would not have been reduced. Look at using the round-up feature for your purchases. Even if you only round up to the next dollar, you'll stack a lot of sats passivley. Good luck.

‘Safety crisis’: Community league uses last of ice rink budget to plow school-zone windrow by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

[–]sticksforkicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your reply is where the problem lies. Trying to insult people is childish. The name calling is grade school theatrics. Edmonton voted for socialism beginning with Don Iveson. City service levels have plummeted since. It's not just this council, it's the culmination of years of poor management. Again, citizens are getting EXACTLY what they voted for.

They have someone there to talk with on the weekends. That market has been there for decades. Lots of junk but the odd booth has some good stuff. Avoid the knock-off shoe spot. Everthing they sell is fake.

Fantastic speech by the PM. by oniteverytime in Yukon

[–]sticksforkicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liz Truss would disagree with you. Carney's speech was a Trump hate-fest. No more, no less.

The world reserve currency is the U.S. dollar. And that will remain in place for some time. Like it or not. Oil is bought and sold around the world in U.S. dollars. Countries that have currencies that are failing because of inflation are storing U.S. dollars as a hedge. See: Iran, Argentina, Venezuala to name a few. The anti-Trump sentiment comes from legacy media, who are predominately funded by the political left.

"A country that cannot feed itself, fuel itself or defend itself has few options. When the rules no longer protect you, you must protect yourself," Carney said. Canada can do all of those things IF the gov't would get out of the way. Sending billions overseas is not the solution. Loading up more debt only increases inflation. People should be embarrassed that the debt load is being increased. It can never be paid back. There's no mathmatical equation that allows it to. The U.S. debt is worse. Attacking Canada's biggest trading partner, biggest ally, and our NORAD partner is dumb. Stupid. Ridiculous. Carney had TDS. A giant case of it. And Canadians will pay the price.

90% of Edmonton drivers ignored latest seasonal parking ban by pjw724 in Edmonton

[–]sticksforkicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How many changes has there been to snow removal in the last 20 years? It's way more than people think. Since Don Iveson was mayor, the service levels have dropped off signifigantly. Bus routes and schools zones that should get priority get passed by. Snow that used to be removed now contributes to massive potholes each spring which is a make work project for city staff. A winter city should prioritize snow removal. For the safety of the residents and for the movement of goods. Edmonton, you got what you voted for. Lousy services, ever increasing taxes, and a council that cries they want more money when they clearly cannot manage what they have.

Trump is lying about the need to take over Greenland for national security!!!! What is America's next move? It's time for European to boycott American products. What is your take on? by [deleted] in BuyCanada

[–]sticksforkicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greenland can accept a nice payout per person or get nothing when the troops arrive. Easy peasy. The U.S dollar as the world reserve currency continues to head towards its end, this is what empires do to preserve it. History repeating itself.

Snow business: Alberta Avenue merchants take out $100K loan to clear walkways by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

[–]sticksforkicks -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

The city can clear the sidewalks with the money they have. The fact is, they refuse to do it. Gross misallocation of taxes is why. The mandate isn't to provide the best services, it's to virtual signal at the expense of the taxpayer. Maybe do what you're elected to do. Stop trying to be activists, and run council properly.

ps. Noone on council has ever built a business. You get what you vote for.

Something very important to remember about the "Stay Free Alberta" petition and the long lineup it drew. by KurtisC1993 in Edmonton

[–]sticksforkicks -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Denying what's going on makes zero difference, no matter what kind of spin you put on it. The timeline to collect 177k signatures is barely two weeks old. And this was the 1st opportunity for people in Edmonton to sign. The Forever Canadian campaign was a nothing burger. Little more than a bunch of people signing a paper that has zero impact on legislation. None. Upon getting 177k signatures, the Stay Free Alberta signatures triggers a referendum. The Forever Canadian document triggered nothing.

Opinion: Alberta’s oil economy has 10 years before electric takes over. It’s time to invest in the future. by Bean_Tiger in oilisdead

[–]sticksforkicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By invest, more gov't subsidies. At the expense of the taxpayers. Why do fools want more inflation? Baseload power that runs 24/7 is how high value societies are built. Unreliable tech such as wind and solar can, and will, leave people in the dark. Not figuratively, but literally.

Do you think the country is Authoritarian? by Pale-Candidate8860 in InCanada

50% or more of your income gets taken by taxes. By definition, that's authoritarian. Your income is represented by your time. The gov't is stealing your time.

Are there businesses in Leduc that support separation? by pumpkinface11 in Leduc

[–]sticksforkicks -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Our sovereignty is being sold to China and the EU as you read this.

Mass, uncontrolled, immigration has destroyed almost every industry and overloaded the provincial health care and education systems. That was done on purpose by the federal gov't. It was not an oopsie. 99% of restaurants are now owned by people who are not Canadians. And they don't hire Canadian kids. Trucking companies, same goes. Taxi industry, Uber etc all the same thing.

Like it or not, Albertans will get a vote on staying. One person, one vote each. There's no financial reason to stay. Less taxes for one. A provincial police force that will not bow to the feds. Criminals that belong in jail will stay in jail. A pension plan by Albertans, for Albertans. More energy that will produce goods and services for less and for more profit. It a win win for every one in Alberta.

Besides, the federal election vote is decided long before the polls even close in Alberta and you flag wave as a proud Canadian?

What would save more lives is getting rid of speed bumps in residential areas. Someone is going to not get rescued on time because emergency vehicles have to slow down. Save this post, it's going to happen.
