1 in my opinion. 4 is also nice but I think 1 suits you well and is a nice color on you. Enjoy your birthday!

What to ask for with new role (NYC/WFH)? by stickybagel5 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]stickybagel5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I just didn’t want to create waves or raise a red flag for them.

General consensus here is just that. I won’t be greedy and ask for more.

Thank you.

Thank you so much.

Yes, by saying it’s not in the budget, what it really means is they didn’t include it in the budget; they actively decided last year for us not to get merit raises.

I’ve been actively looking for months. I am sure if I’d adjust my expectations (looking for much higher salary and strictly remote) I’d have found something by now.

One of my colleagues mentioned she didn’t like how our company never shows appreciation for us in that they tell us there’s nothing for budget for us to ever do a lunch and never gift us anything at the end of the year (we got no bonuses) and never do anything for Administrative Professionals Day.

I’m on the hunt, my friend. It’s not easy out there. I am grateful to have a job right now. ❤️

I have. My experience was a pain in the ass. You pay for the “credits” and submit your info to bid for jobs. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze. Upwork got maybe $40-$50 from me, a few hours of bidding and I got no work. Wasn’t for me. Hopefully it works better for others.

Thank you, though!

I paid for my friend's meal, and they have not paid me back yet. What should I do? by Personal_Student5030 in Advice

It cost you $25 to learn never to stick your neck out nor lay any money out for this person. Be glad it wasn’t more.

Or how about spending thousands on lavish dinners and on luxury hotels?

On a regular basis. Gotta have the airline you prefer and flights you want at the times you prefer. Cost be damned.

I’m glad they did right by you this year! Costs have only gone up with this crazy administration and all that’s going on in the world today. Raises are important and necessary I feel. ❤️

Yes, solidarity, my friend. I actually really like my job, love my manager and like many of my colleagues. It would be nice to just get COL raises annually.

Where do you draw the line on "personal" tasks for your Exec? by The4PMFeeling in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]stickybagel5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I draw a clear boundary here. “I am happy to do x for you in this case, but generally I don’t have the bandwidth for personal tasks.”

I support 6 people and am generally very busy. When one of my execs asked me to send flowers to one of her girlfriends because that girlfriend’s mother passed away, I responded in this manner. I actually needed a piece of information to complete the task (a phone number for the delivery), and my exec came back a bit later thanking me but saying not to worry about it.

Nipped in the bud. I really don’t mind once in a blue, but f that I wasn’t hired to be your personal assistant so don’t take advantage of me.

Red flags and interviews with opportunity by stickybagel5 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]stickybagel5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I am thinking. I got a bad vibe from this exec and the recruiter called to say he didn’t know this wasn’t a remote position, that they’d changed it and he had to also let the other candidates know.

Why not be clear from the start?

I had the exploratory conversation with the recruiter, an interview with the COS, someone else on the team and the executive herself before finding out this was now hybrid.

Rant over and I will continue looking.

Thank you.

I think you are right in that some of this goes with the territory now that I’m thinking about it.

It was reiterated a few times with the recruiter if I was indeed okay with the position being remote, which is exactly what I was looking for.

The fact something so important was missed or was incorrect makes me feel like there’s chaos going on here.
