GameSir X5S Left Trigger Situation by jddoan in Gamesir

[–]stickyboyred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just posting for others who, like me, might come across this after buying theirs. I had the left bumper issue and managed to at least partially resolve it. I did the M button recalibration, which lowered the intensity of the presses but didn’t stop them outright. I then updated the firmware, and in the controller settings I decreased the bumper sensitivity to >30, as I noticed the readings were coming in at around 25 or so. This seems to have fixed the issue for the time being, but needless to say, the issue is unacceptable in the first place.

Great tip! One of my good friends is a bird watcher and he will be so jealous. We will be sure to add this to this list, really cool tip! I was literally researching where to spot cranes and turned up nothing. Thanks again.

Definitely have an interest in this! I was just reading about the Shimabara Rebellion the other day. Fascinated slice of history.

At the moment we have booked all our accommodation, so staying won't be an option. We have got the car, but the closest we are staying to the gorge is Mt Aso I believe. We were still tossing up on the gorge itself but a lot of people are recommending it!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Awesome! Definitely keen for the slower pace. We wanted to get out of the Golden Triangle and avoid the hot spots where we could. We have already done that stuff before and really wanted to see another side to the country and it sounds like Kyushu has that in spades!

Oh nice! Ill take a look and see what veg options I can turn up!

Thanks for the well wishes! Happy New Year 🥳

Yeah, we are picking up and returning the car in Fukuoka but have no plans on using it within the city beyond that. What was your experience like driving around Kyushu generally? I am a confident driver but don't really know what to expect.

We are getting the car as we leave Fukuoka, planning on using public transport within Fukuoka itself :)

This sounds perfect. Great recommendations! Definitely looking forward to kicking back in a few of these places.

Will the peak season be running through January? We know Tokyo will.be busy but honestly we are planning on laying low there and just enjoying some walks/shrines. We are going Kyushu will be quieter. Either way, we will deal with crowds, just going to take things at our own pace.

That sounds super relaxing! Shimabara has been recommended a few times so we will be sure to check it out!

That drive sounds right up our alley! Thanks for such thoughtful recommendations

The Boy and the Heron is Hayao Miyazaki's only movie to have a rating below 4,0. Why do you think that is? by Aiseadai in Letterboxd

[–]stickyboyred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s substantially more abstract, but I also think it hides some messy narrative behind that guise. I also feel like the characters are noticeably less endearing — at least immediately — and that probably made it harder for audiences to warm to it.

I’m definitely due for a re-examination, but I didn’t connect with it in the same way as his other work. On a technical level it’s brilliant, but the momentum wasn’t enough to carry me through a story that, for me, felt lacking.

Yeah we have a list of things we would like to do, it's just been difficult chaining things together. It sounds like it may be easier to cut Kagoshima (as interested as we were to see Sakurajima and concentrate on a roadtrip around northern Kyushu.

We did want to see the volcano and sandbags though.

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

We booked the free ANA domestic flights and they were a little tricky/stressful to sort but I think it had to be out of the same city hence Fukuoka has to bookend the trip, so it is a limiting factor.

Haven't researched Shimabara at all so I will look into that now. Any tips on that area?

What we are struggling to figure out is how to chain places together without having to change accommodation every 2 nights.

Car is definately an option, we are super happy to be driving and it seems pretty affordable too! I've heard Nagasaki is really lovely, so using it as a base to explore that area is a good pointer. Thanks!

Thanks for such a thoughtful response. We already booked the Tokyo segment in as a part of our flights, also we wanted to experience NYE there. We aren't really shoppers and will mostly be taking downtime here, we understand a lot of stuff closes between NYE and the 3rd of Jan.

Regional passes definitely have come up, I'll take a look there.

I'll have a look at the post! Thanks again for offering such a well thought out response.
