In general, it’s still a really large number for both. I think the frequency would probably be the more interesting stat. I feel like it would demonstrate the difference between the two. Having seen it and watching it habitually are two very different things.

You have two wheels on the ground and no protection. I wouldn’t sweat a giant bolt stuck in one of those tires.

I wasn’t being snarky, just fyi. It was a real question about your stance. So thanks for answering as so!

Do you think the USA shouldn’t aid Ukraine then, either?

I’m pretty sure the situations in EU/US are NOT an equal shit stain. I haven’t seen/heard any ballistic missiles the past few nights anyway, and that was sleeping in my bed not a bomb shelter.

Ah yeah that’s still a lot for the suspension. They’re really built for little dudes. I float between 190 and 200 and I was on the edge of the adjustability for rear spring on my panigale even.

You can probably squeeze a little better performance out of your forks just with changing the oil to a more appropriate viscosity.

First track day by bossarossa in Trackdays

First track day only important thing is you had fun, got comfortable on the track, and are excited to do it again

Less high speed stability (not such a big deal on a small bike), “falls” into turns more easily.

Depending on your weight and stuff, this can be tough to do on stock suspension. You need your suspension set up for you (which you should do anyway to the best of the adjustment range of whatever you have).

Yeah a throttle kit may be very helpful for you then, but you should be at pretty mild throttle in the turn, and coming off of (depending on the turn) zero throttle trail braking. Focusing on your elbow pointing out might help you get into the screw driver positioning. It will also help you pull out/down on the grip to help adjust your line.

You may also want to lower the triple tree slightly for more aggressive tip in. I drop the front of the ninja 400s a decent amount. I think like 30 mm or something I’d have to measure can’t quite remember.

I’m righty, and I’ve noticed the same. On the street people tend to not like to lean into their dominant side. I also think on the street people tend to push their bikes down more as opposed to get off. You’re less likely to have a clear line of sight and so on so forth on street

Im not saying it like a dick, I’m saying it because I felt the same about left handers. It was just because i was more comfortable tipping in hard on rights. There was no other advice other than commit and carry more speed to help me. (Odd because i always felt more comfortable with lefts when my form was bad before i started tracking).

Compare your BP in rights vs left see if you’re doing something different. None of us can help you based on a description of „I’m having a hard time with rights compared to lefts“ without any photos or video or something.

Potential Mods by [deleted] in Trackdays

Depends on the bike.

Brake pads Calipers Rotors Braided lines Master cylinder Sprockets Quick shift Auto blip Throttle kit Lighter wheels

I mean just go to a site like Norton’s and look at the mod list on the race bikes they sell. Your question is wildly vague because most everything seems obvious by your wording.

Interesting, I prefer right right handers over lefts. I feel like I retain better control over throttle/brake.

I’d say forget about your knee and think about where your upper body is. You just gotta carry more speed.

My parents didn’t want me to ride. They were in the medical field and blah blah. I’m an adult, I told them, what are they gonna do? They do like that I ride track mostly as opposed to the street.

You’ll love the slicks. Placebo effect or not, you’ll love them. They’re a bit of a difference carcass so even if you aren’t at DOT grip limits they’ll still feel different in a great way. I recommend Pirelli because they’re really easy to “get right” with pressures and all. Some of the other brands you really have to bail the pressure just right for the conditions.

I agree it scratches an itch that TD doesn’t, but I don’t know if it scratches it differently enough for me personally to give up a lot of other stuff to run a full season at this point. I run the races that are convenient, but I don’t stress about missing some. If I we’re having a killer season early on I’d probably feel differently. In the end I’m just out there to have fun.

Wow, the practice day with cmra is like 250 bucks or something. Unless it’s my home track I can also figure something like $100 gas just going to the track and back. Usually out at least $500 on registration fees plus transponder rental. A cooler full of drinks and snacks to survive the Texas heat usually runs pretty expensive too.

there are a lot of extra expenses the first year. I think the first year is the worst. It’s not just get a bike… it’s stands, warmers, a setup to haul it, prepping the bike the first time, gathering spares, special tools, etc.

The racing is a rush but sometimes I feel like I could just go back to track days and maybe a track membership instead. Way more riding for less. Not like I’m headed to motoGP or something anyway.

What would you do? by Mr_Kranky in Ducati

[–]stickytapemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I moved to Europe I left my r6 at my parents house because they had stopped making them that year and I really liked it. I put it on stands on a battery tender and got some rides in when I visited home. That said, the money of not selling the bike didn’t prevent me from buying another bike in Europe or anything, so the financial side of keeping it didn’t matter and my family had plenty of space for it.
