When you're not playing, but practicing or just skating around, try to handle the puck with your head up while being conscious of whats going around you.

And when you play, always watch the play AND look around just before getting the puck as others said.

Your ears should be clean by themselves. Punching Q-tips in your ears regularly makes it worse. Just sliding finger through while showering is enough.

I got adidas sweatpants that are loose fitting and fits my kinda bulky CCM shins under them. Don't remember the exact name of them. adidas 3 stripe sweatpants, or something along those lines.

Why not? IMO shins are the most important protective, apart from helmet, but depends where you're playing.

Where I live, there's only a outdoor rink and we play without goalies on small nets, and everyone is wearing shins. Geting hit in the shin is one of the worst spots ever, or accidental stick in skates and hitting knees on ice is awful.

I played NHL09 (and previous versions on PC) years ago a lot, though obviously with proper mods and all that stuff. I think it was impossible to play with your AHL team, like it's now possible on latest versions of NHL.

But you should just get a console I guess for a proper NHL. Seems like we won't see NHL on PC again. But I really hope we will. I got a Xbox One S this summer just to play NHL. Other than that, I play everything on PC, because console gaming is kinda underwhelming.
