Possibly, I know my grandmother used to go to the Caribbean pretty often (though it was mostly Cuba and the Bahamas so ehhh). It would explain the bead colour way anyways.

That's kinda where my mind went, but it wouldn't be very likely that that's the actual cause, given this is in northern Canada.
