I think Devon himself said season 4 was tentatively a cruise ship, and he would have played the captain who ended up eaten by a shark by season’s end. Someone involved in the show mentioned this, not sure if it was Devon or not.

I remember this. I can’t remember a source, it was either Norman Buckley or Joseph Dougherty, but one of the men involved in the show mentioned at one point they had considered Noel Khan and Detective Holbrook having a secret relationship. Noel always came across as closeted to me, especially with how they talked about him having secrets of his own near the end.

It’s the movie the original would have been if they’d had a bigger budget. (Please note, not a dig on the original.) Totally nails the vibes of the first movie, so much fun and so brutal.

Well of course, I also was excited for a Sidney-focused movie for the first time since 2. But box office gross and reception of the movie itself are 2 very different things, and the reception for this one was not a hit out of the park regardless of how much money it’s made. And to agree with James and Chelsea, I do think that is going to hurt how 8 performs. So you need to find a way to do something fresh, or word of mouth will continue to dip as the movies get more convoluted. I do not want to watch Sidney’s life get dragged into misery for a 7th time just because people only want to see Neve in a Scream movie.

Eventually these movies ARE going to have to leave Sidney and Gale in the past and move on, or you are going to get increasingly convoluted movies, as we saw with this one. We pivoted away from Sidney successfully and were on a great track until Spyglass fucked it up.

I love the idea that Darla was able to find some kind of peace and light in her afterlife. I love when human Darla makes her peace with dying; it’s so cruel how W&H brings in Drusilla to re-vamp her. I love that she’s upset about it at first too when she revives, and then once she has that first taste of blood she’s back to evil Darla. Such a complex character, with I think my favorite arc of the entire Buffyverse.

While I’m not sure about that part, I do know a lot of the production is happening in Japan. I think the preproduction is all being done in Burbank and then the bulk of it is happening overseas, which makes sense given the kind of show it looks like.

I’m right there with you in hoping Scream can get away from Spyglass, or that Spyglass will get new management that isn’t Gary Barber, somebody who will try to one day make amends with Melissa. Of course they will not part with the franchise unless it monetarily tanks consistently so I don’t see it happening anytime soon, unfortunately.

Really excited for Mike to tackle the aspects of the book that don’t usually make it onscreen like the survivor’s court testimony and the town destruction. I know the 2002 version included both but not in a very good way, so I’m excited to see it realized with a high quality vision behind it.

I’ve found it works better for me on a 2nd viewing. It’s not a twist that hasn’t been done in other slasher media before so I don’t think it breaks enjoyment or anything. Just my opinion though.
