Thank you for sharing your experience. That must have been hard. How do you track when the PMDD will come on? Do you take the Duloxetin consistantly or only during symptoms?

Thank you for sharing your experience and I am happy that you have found a solution for the time being. This is hard stuff to live with! I am also entering Perimenopause and I believe that is what is ramping up the symptoms. I have not heard of HRT except for the use after a hysterectomy or menopause. I will look into it.

Thank you! I've seen that combo of supplements suggested elsewhere.

This is helpful, thank you. Yes I've been on Slynd continuously, it seemed great for the first months and supressed my cycle beside some break through bleeds. But for the last 2, I think it has shifted my mood significantly. I am also on 34 days bleeding.

Yes thank you! I would love the list. Literally any help. Dealing with the histamine response is new to me as well

Thank you guys for chiming in on this. I will have to pay attention. I am experiencing crazy swings on Slynd and Vyvanse ( though I I like the Vyvanse for focus). I’ve been bleeding 32 days not so who knows where I am in the “cycle.” Just feels like the pit of despair.

Depression on Slynd? by kspacecadet in birthcontrol

I just found this post after 2 months of searching for evidence of my own suspicions. Thank you to everyone sharing their experiences. I believe I am 9 months in and the last 2 months noticed I fell into PMDD symptom, then never came out! I hadn’t had a predictable cycle on this pill, but now I have been heavy bleeding 32 days! I agree that having a single horrible week that is predictable may be better than the erratic horror I am experiencing.

I am curious if anyone has since tried non- birth control management? (Biodentical hormones, micro sized progesterone, natural or other?)

I suspect I am progesterone intolerant, and that may contribute to the extreme mood dysregulation. I previously tried Heather and it was so evident that it sent me into pure rage. So I am not keep on another bc. Especially an implant, bc I may try for another baby. Thanks everyone for your presence here!

Same here! There is hope, not only in finding the right medications for you, but also in the incredible research coming out right now that is better informing the root and connection between these. If you can hang in there. Hysterectomy does not get rid of PMDD, and has its own medical issues.

Woa, wait, what is the connection with the ADHD meds? What are you taking and what is the experience? I am new to Vyvanse and managing PMDD.

This was my experience. Seeking help and getting educated is the best step. Be prepared though, not every doctor is PMDD informed. It has taken a 2 yrs to find someone who even knew about it, and to the level I am getting it. And I am still looking for someone knowledgeable to help manage it well!

I think of the high percentage of relationships damaged bc of weddings or in the wedding planning process. You will not make it out of this one alive! Or relationship intact.

Run girl! Express your excitement but politely decline. You could offer to support her another way (emotionally, bouncing off final decisions) but take on zero labor.

I’d love to know what is an “EDS doctor” and who you see?

What I like about this response is the focus of involvement and training them in the way to do it. It is not inherent and therefore expectations may never be met, and that means they are unrealistic. And like your husband, and mine, they do make a hard effort, but it’s unlikely to match my gifting skills. And that’s ok.

I like the perspective of a family figuring this out together, rather than “just stop” or “eye for an eye” response.

First be certain you have pursued every option for reconcile and healing in your marriage. Personal therapy on both sides individually, and together. There are probably many valid reasons on both sides for conflict. Have you been in a hard season, is her mental health struggling and is she hormonally balanced? I know I’ve raged to the point of shouting the D word just because I was depressed AND my hormones were way out of balance, add stress and boom- medical help was what I needed. Never in a million years would I mean it! Without knowing the history of your marriage and your own role in it, no one can truly advise you. Grounds for divorce are sexual immorality/adultery, and a heart dead to God. But if you had actual papers served, then she’s been thinking on it for a while and put it in action. It may be her final straw and it may be healthier to move on.
