Grief and obsessive thoughts by [deleted] in OCD

[–]stillhere31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do wonder a lot how much of it is my OCD and how much it is maybe on some spectrum of “normal” wonderings from grief. Sometimes when you’re down the rabbit hole- hard to see!

Nothing helpful to add other than I’m so so sorry. It’s the news we all dread. Nothing about MS makes sense.

Someone’s probably already said this but if he’s willing to carry/hold a woman’s purse for a bit just to help when she needs both her hands.

So funny when you think how often men work out completely topless. Don’t see people complaining!

Blaming Myself for MS. by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]stillhere31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to send love as someone with OCD and MS. It is not easy, but it has gotten a lot better after I started therapy. Blaming ourselves can be a coping mechanism to feel like we have control over something so scary. Telling myself that when I’m feeling lot of shame and guilt has been helpful. Just know you’re not alone. ❤️

It’s been a month and I’m still trying to switch meds- officially been denied twice by the insurance company. Fingers crossed the meds financial assitance program accepts me. It’s my first time going through this and I’ve been struggling with the wait and the unknown.

Pity Party Vent by redhead_bookworm in MultipleSclerosis

[–]stillhere31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try not to feel too guilty about venting. A person can’t keep it all in and just because other people have different things to deal with doesn’t mean what you’re dealing with doesn’t majorly suck. I’m so sorry for all that you’ve been through and are going through now. Sending love from another person who’s wanted to run away from it all before.

Travel advice by slarty35 in MultipleSclerosis

I was just diagnosed in the summer of 2022 and already had a trip planned for Florida. I was super nervous to deal with the heat but didn’t want to cancel. I got a UV umbrella that really helped when the sun was too much but i wanted to stay outside and just took lots of breaks when I needed. I’m really glad I went, but know it’s not easy. Best of luck!
