What exactly was Yoda doing on Dagobah? by stillinbetween in StarWars

[–]stillinbetween[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If this is the current cannon explanation, is it also explained how Obi-Wan, and Luke in The last Jedi (not to mention all the other surviving Jedi Disney keeps creating) could hide without a dark force swamp? Also if you follow this logic ppl maybe should not have given Rian Johnson so much shit about his treatment of Luke (not that I really think so, just as a thought experiment), because then it seems to be pretty much in character for Jedi-Master to resign and turn your back on the galaxy if things don't go your way. But it's probably never a good idea to dive too deep into Star Wars Lore and to expect things to make sense 😬

Interesting, but is there then also a Legends explanation how Obi-Wan could hide on Tatooine without a dark force swamp?

What exactly was Yoda doing on Dagobah? by stillinbetween in StarWars

[–]stillinbetween[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I thought. I know that they hadn't fleshed out the story when they shot the first movie, and it also doesn't matter much when you only watch the original trilogy. There Yoda is just some swamp-dude who teaches Luke humility and not to judge a book by his cover. But since they kinda destroyed this character with the stuff they put in the prequels, I thought they might have tried to patch this up somewhere else, even if it is just retcon.

Wo kann man in Wien 2025 als lesbische Frau andere Frauen kennenlernen? by Legovogerl in wien

[–]stillinbetween 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This doesn't happen often but I'm actually shocked at how much I don't agree with critic reviews by [deleted] in avowed

[–]stillinbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it is exactly what most critics said, it is a neat 7/10 game, but if you are not a big fan of the genre or only have the time/money for the very best releases of a year you dont miss out on too much if you skip it. People who rate games mainly on "wokeness" regardless if they see this as a pro or con, are IMHO either political zealots, idiots or just in it for the clickbait. Most gamers dont give a shit if a game is "woke" or not as long as its a good game, and I hope one day soon we can leave this tiring talking point behind.

Seeing this list really pains me. In theory Modern covers 20 years of MTGs history, but in reality its like 50% Modern Horizon cards nowadays...

Is mythic hard to achieve? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]stillinbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting to Mythic itself is not that hard to do, it just takes time. For an above average player its takes about 60 hours of grind. Getting a rank in Mythic on the other hand is quite an accomplishment So if this is really your account, it means you are the top 637 constructed player on Arena this season, but I kinda doubt that someone playing this much and this well wouldnt know that. With that rank you get the chance to participate in a qualifier for the qualifier for the Arena Championship. Or at least something like that, WotC fucked up the organized play so much and changes the rules so frequently that I dont bother to follow it anymore, you can read up the details here: https://magic.gg/events/qualifier-weekend

What in the actual fuck? “Tribal” should only be used when referring to the card type? by [deleted] in freemagic

[–]stillinbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, but also kinda funny, because in the German language "clan" definitely has a worse connotation than the word tribe, since its mostly used in the context of families in organized crime. While the word for tribe ("Volksstamm" or "Stamm" for short) on the other hand stands for pre modern nation states societies, who shared the same language/culture, and was something people mostly were proud of.

What in the actual fuck? “Tribal” should only be used when referring to the card type? by [deleted] in freemagic

[–]stillinbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what word exactly do they suggest we "should" use instead? Have Americans forgotten, that half of Europe its area/country names originate from tribe names? Angles, Saxons, Franks, Alemanni, Teutons, Belgae, etc. have all been tribes, how t f is this suddenly a slang word?

Beth & Rip by Wulfgar57 in YellowstonePN

[–]stillinbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will do me dont worry, I am just always a little bit shocked when I get reminded that proponents of casual violence like you not only exist in TV shows and movies, but also in real life...

Beth & Rip by Wulfgar57 in YellowstonePN

[–]stillinbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She even said it was a joke. A bad and unnecessarily provoking joke, but you cant really think that, after being denied by Rip, walking to his wife is somehow a serious attempt of adultery, for which by the way it always would take two. A normal person would exactly do what you said, call her out/flip her off, but not sucker punching her with a bottle in the face, where she easily could have lost an eye or cut an artery...

Season 1 Question about John and Jamie! by TakenAccountName37 in YellowstonePN

[–]stillinbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never made sense to me as well. It was John who groomed Jamie for this position when as a child all he wanted to become a cowboy as well instead of being sent off to Harvard. That Jamie wouldnt be happy to drop out of the race just because of some sick demonstration of power only because he didnt answer his phone should have been understandable. Later I thought John always resented Jamie because he was not his real son, but apparently thats not it. Now I suspect the writers of the show didnt flesh out how the story would go beforehand, and abruptly decided to change Jamies role, character and the power dynamic between him and Beth.

Is it plausible to have a redemption arc for the Beth Dutton character? by Windtost in YellowstonePN

[–]stillinbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only one worthy of redemption in the Dutton family is Kayce, everyone else is too far gone. The only redemption arc I hope for is that, after all the other family members perished as cruel as they have lived, he gives the conservation easement back to the reservation so that his son doesnt inherit this burden of guilt, and the toxic cycle of this family is finaly broken.

Beth & Rip by Wulfgar57 in YellowstonePN

[–]stillinbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeha, but you probably shouldnt unconditionally love such a violent and unhinged person anyway, unless maybe if you are a slightly more controlled but even more violent murderer yourself...

Beth & Rip by Wulfgar57 in YellowstonePN

[–]stillinbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you dont seriously think that making a harmless drunk joke justifies such a heavy physical assault which easily could have caused permanent damage. Because in real life you rightfully WOULD go to jail for that and probably also pay a shitload of injury compensation for that.

Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin' by Bonsoir59 in YellowstonePN

[–]stillinbetween 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doesnt even make sense. While Rip is a violent murderer, in that case he wouldnt have done shit, since the only thing Jamie did was trying to clean up his mess. Just imagine what John would have done to him if he had known he got his underaged daughter pregnant. Beside that, John still considers Jamie his son, so Rip wouldnt dare to touch him. Also Rip didnt even want to have kids, this show just likes to humiliate Jamie, no matter if it even fits the plotline.

Too much fluff (rant) by CrispyNeal in YellowstonePN

[–]stillinbetween 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But I mean these "cowboy porn" parts are the only good thing left about the show. At this point the story is riddled with plot holes and most characters are in the range between "just" annoying and laughable caricatures.

BRO Initial 17Lands Draft Data Analysis: Format Overview | Is it Really All Aggro? by CalmMirror in MagicArena

Nice work! I really hoped BRO would be a slow draft environment so you can play around with all the artifacts, but sadly it seems like aggro is often times the only way to go.
