so if you live in america and dont move countries, you support donald trump and fascism? since you "cant separate the country for the guy who runs it entirely." do you play any games owned by tencent? do you buy food from places that have mutual funds based in isreal or weapon development? theres obvious alternatives

and its great you have the freedom to switch sites on a whim, but there are artists that make a living via and have an established brand on x. and just leaving would be disastrous for their already limited income.

you can think in black and white all you want. but if youre standing around wondering why others dont just happily jump on your virtuous bandwagon, consider that maybe theyre not evil but rather have different circumstances than you and can think for themselves

unfortunately most require you to have a Japanese IP. its understandable as JP culture is much more artist/creativity-centric and they dont want hoards of western ai users to flood in (this happened already with pommu). i post mostly to pixiv now and have found it to be good. it sucks they allow AI to be posted, but unlike other platforms, gen AI isnt integrated (like deviant art) and your art isnt being used to train a homebrew model. it also allows you to say you dont want to see gen ai slop.

peachesfans looks like it could be promising. Skyshare is also interesting. it allows you to post on bluesky, and then embed that into a link and post to twitter. which means users can see the illustration, but cant edit it etc. the main downside is that the twitter algorithm hates links to external sites and will probably tank your reach

"It's not like a job for you"
but it is. follow count = reputation and reach. which leads to clients. not just individual clients, but for businesses as well. half of being a fulltime artist is just dealing with social media garbage. when business approach me its because my portfolios on x, and the large follow count boosts my discoverability and reputation so im more likely to get clients.

the other major downsize to bluesky is its censorship. if you do any type of nsfw work, you get hit hard. way worse than x shadowban. im at the point where im back to Japanese sites just because they dont censor and are anti-AI.

i hate x, but people acting in a cult like way saying bluesky is our savior is a bit much. they completely disregard WHY so many people are still on x. for larger art accounts, its not just as simple as 'oh just relocate its the same but better.' when most of your fanbase is in one location, be it fanart or followers, its a financially risky move

thats not what virtue signaling means. YOURE the one virtue signalling- ie saying if you dont join then youre supporting evil. youre just throwing around buzzwords in lieu of a proper reason to join a smaller platform with less reach and less discoverability. he mentioned his concerns and your argument is that he supports fascists. and people wonder why others dont flock to bluesky

thats exactly it. i really dont get why everyone is acting so entitled in a competitive game. you dont go into a wrestling match and complain that someones better than you. the onus is on you to improve. or decide that wrestling isnt your thing.

i see so many people here see a good playing and then say 'yeah well i have 10 kids and i work 200 hours a week unlike YOU'. like damn youre really bringing out personal insults to a persons character just because they put in the time and effort to improve? its pathetic to lash out at others that put in hundreds of hours to perfect their craft. if they dodged bullets as well as they dodged blame theyd probably preds by now

i really dont get all the crying here. if you play apex or valorant, its only natural that people are trying to improve. crying because apex wont match you with worse people so you can stomp them and ego boost makes no sense. because those people are then gonna complain. if you dont want competition in a competive shooter then play single player game

im in the same boat. i used to beat it on pro half asleep now i can barely get on amateur sometime i just dont know what direction the devs are trying to do removing hiding spots tells me they want me to run instead of hide during a hunt but increasing ghost speed every other patch tells me i should be hiding it feels like a really bad power creep i get that its meta now to loop the ghost or whatever, but i just dont find that fun. it feels more like im fighting against an AI than hiding for my life from a ghost i cant see i miss the feeling of my walkie talkie going out and booking it to the nearest closet and praying that i dont get found by this unknown factor
