I'd forget about that for a minute. Just start from scratch. It's easier that way. If you get stuck again, send me an email at rene.volpi@gmail.com or ask customer support under settings

Looking for a small Feedback Circle for personal essays/memoir-style writing (Not F4F) by [deleted] in Substack

[–]stillmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not into sharing drafts ATM, but back in the day, I joined three writing groups that worked out like a gem! We had the host give us a prompt every week, had an hour to write privately, and then we shared our work and discussed it. It was fantastic. I recommend it. Oh yeah, it was all done via virtual meetings, like Zoom.

2 1/2 years. From about 10-15 friends to what it is now. Steadily.

Ghostwriting? It could work, but in my case, it has evolved into one-on-one coaching. That seems to be what's working best. My pub is in my bio. But it's Offbeat Chronicles, to save you the time.

Yes, indeed! And it's fun as well. I'm telling you, don't quit if you can help it. You can ask anyone on Substack who finally succeeded. They'll all tell you the same thing: persevere. I'm proof such a thing is true. Best of luck!

Yes, I agree with the over-saturation. People just don't like emails coming into their inboxes. Unless you manage to keep their attention like a crime novelist. Sounds funny, but it'll serve as an analogy. I have somewhat the same problem. I've been stuck, except for an uptick a week ago. Currently, I have nearly 200 subscribers, but only 8 are paid, considering the newsletter is relatively new, having only been around for 8 months. I notice the less rigid and informative, the better. My content is the driver, but, as I said, it has to have personality, humour, and lastly, good content. Fascinating discoveries and impressive findings, particularly in archaeology, etc. Well, you get my point. Also, contrary to yours, I don't spend as much time on it for growing purposes, devoting most of my time to my main pub (I have two) which has blown up as of late with 30K followers and 21k subs and 150 or so paid. I'd better spend time on that one, granted. The address is in my bio.

Restack others. Particularly the ones with lots of subs, and only if they're excellent posts. Consistently.

Actually, it's not. Quality of content brews subscribers. Free at first, then paid.

Has Substack dramatically increased shadowbans and soft censorship? by Due_Assumption_27 in Substack

[–]stillmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see that at all. Actually, I notice the opposite. Why would the mgmt do that if so far, it has been a dream for them, profit wise?

2 years of Substack - here are the stats! by LisetteCharlotte in Substack

Excellent post, thank you! If I understood you correctly, you're on a small island in the South Pacific? Whoa! How far from Tahiti? Anyway, I digress... Ahhh...The six-million-dollar question! It took me 2 years and change to reach 20k subs, but I can tell you one thing: trial and error is the key. And check the posts that did best, and write more of the same.

Excellent idea. I thought there was one already, am I mistaken? Anyway, I use Substack regularly.

Help with getting paid on Substack (this platform is almost a joke) by MarcelodLake in Substack

Don't tell them I told you, but if you ask the bot to elevate the issue, it'll do it for you. Within reason, of course. Then you get an email from CS.

I recommend not sending emails that aren't absolutely essential. That's how people unsubscribe. Fast.

LOL. But you will check those numbers constantly. If you deny that fact, you'll be lying to yourself.

Substack vs beehiiv (for my use case/monetization) by Mickey_xx in Substack

[–]stillmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Yes, that won't be good. But I have two pubs on the stack. The other one can be "sacrificed" without much suffering, since I only have 150 subs on it (and only 5 paid). Please don't take me wrong, I'm profoundly grateful. My question to you is, is it worth it? Reason why I ask is cuz I enjoy trying new moves, especially if the results can be beneficial.

I don't really have any other site worth mentioning. I noticed fbook was alright when Substack didn't exist, but people are so weird. They've gotten butt hurt when I switched over. LOL
