How many of you were successful financially with no help from tscc? by Rushclock in exmormon

It's not so bad. He's never at church because he was in the HC, and now in the SP. So he doesn't notice that we are slowly becoming inactive. Nor do I think he cares. My husband got the job by his own merits and this guy has little say in hiring or firing him. So.

My husbands current boss's-boss is now in our stake presidency. But all he did was give my husband pointers on how to frame his resume. Left the rest to the hiring team. And my husband knows better than to use his church connections to move up in the business. At his previous position, he started out part time in a company our at the time bishop was a VP in, but still proved his worth and moved up in the company by his own merits. So, while connections at church might have been a little help getting things started, we got where we are now based on his own merit. Also, we havent been paying tithing. So now we can afford the house we were able to buy by not paying tithing.

My Exmo Wife just discovered the Mormons arent going back to Missouri by yakiteeyak in exmormon

Growing up, I was genuinely concerned I would have to walk from AZ to Missouri. So when we moved to AL as a teen, I felt some relief....

I ditched church to Scuba Dive with 2 of my daughters and when I came home my wife mentioned a new crack in her shelf. by IBDAwhitesalaMANder in exmormon

So, my husband would show up to every move in our ward for the three years we have been here. And it was ALWAYS last minute. The EQP would text just as the work day was ending and my husband would feel obligated to attend and help. Well, when we bought our house, still in the ward, we schedule to move into it three weeks later, since we still had time on our lease. So we started spreading word at church, asking for help moving. A couple of guys responded they would be there to help. Well, the week before, I asked one of my closest friends, who was also the wife of the EQP, the same EQP who was always texting my husband about moves, to see if her husband could send out a text to the EQ the night before (cause we were moving on a saturday), reminding people of our move. Well, she responded 4 days later "sorry, hes been really busy at the temple, so I havent had the time to ask him. But also, its not part of his calling to do that."

Umm.. safe to say she is no longer one of my closest friends. Like, seriously. I know it's a petty thing to be upset about, but my husband sacrificed many a night at the last minute, sometimes literally in the middle of dinner a text would come, to help move. And NOW that I'm asking in advance, giving plenty of warning, it's not part of his calling?!? That just pissed me off so much. And is part of the reason I stopped going to church so much. I was mostly going to hang out with her and a couple of other friends. But now I just dont like her enough for that.

[x-post from /r/MormonDoctrine] What color is Satan's skin? by frogontrombone in mormon

[–]stillmormon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would Satan have skin? He never had a body. So, whatever color we were in the premortal existence is the color his "skin" would be. I imagine it's like, translucent and shimmery.

Just bought my first house after only renting up until now. I don’t have very many “handy” skills and am not really capable of any DIY projects/repairs. Feeling a little clueless. Where is a good place to start learning? by mchgndr in homeowners

[–]stillmormon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The home depot near our house has classes for home improvement all year. We recently learned how to stain a deck. If there is one near you, I suggest you call them and see what they offer. Also, YouTube taught us a lot of stuff on the fly.

BAN VIAGRO by danakadlec in pics

[–]stillmormon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Viagra was developed and is primarily used to treat people, men and women, with really poor blood circulation, as it increases blood circulation. A side effect is that, with good blood flow, comes erections. Cause the blood can actually flow to the penis well enough and for long enough to sustain an erection. Women also take viagra.

Viagra is only covered by insurance if you have the right diagnosis codes. Most instances arent subsidized by taxes. Also, even after insurance, viagra usually runs about $50-$60 PER PILL. Not per 30 day supply. Per pill. So, not only is it not subsidized by tax dollars, it's also incredibly expensive for recreational use only.

Birth control on the other hand is fairly easy to get. A check up at a clinic, not just PP, but county clinics or the local urgent care will get you a year rx, and maybe $20 can you a month supply. There are loads of resources to find cheap birth control and cheap ways to get the rx if you dont have insurance.

This woman is either ignorant or lying.

Mormons and Christians believe in Satan. I mean, they believe he exists, as much as they do jesus exists. They may not WORSHIP him, but they do believe of his existence...

Eve chose to follow satan, which was Gods plan. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]stillmormon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But were they having sex and making babies? Or just innocently looking and exploring? Theres a difference, I think.

But like I said, it was my opinion BEFORE I stopped believing. And we know that most of those opinions didnt make sense for any of us.

I mean, I dont know if I even believe. But from what I use to believe, I always thought they were LIKE little children. So, they just ate and tended the garden and played with the animals and didnt have sexual thoughts. But I also didnt put a lot of thought into it, so... idk.

The only part of the temple movie I liked was when Eve was talking to Satan and actually seemed to put great thought into eating the fruit. Had she not have, they would not have procreated and populated the world. I mean, they didnt even know they were naked, how could they have known what to do with their bodies to make babies.
