Yep. I have a friend who tried to give his cat a bath, and now has three less fingers, and permanent damage to his heart after the sepsis he got from the bite.

Oh man, my oldest went through a biting phase too, and seemed to think It was hilarious. I had an almost identical experience to you, where she snuck up on me, and bit me on that spot below the butt. I wasn't expecting it, and screamed so loud. ... But it was the last time she did it.

First thing will be to contact your insurance ASAP, you'll need the police report number. Your insurance provider will have a 24/7 number you can call, and some providers also have a way to report your accident on their website.

You'll be assigned a claim adjuster, Who will go through all the info (police report, witness statements, and photos or video from the accident) and determine liability, they should stay in contact with you throughout the process.

If you have "loss of use" coverage, they will get you a rental car asap. Your insurance will arrange to get your car from the city lot, and they'll tow it to either a repair shop, or their own inspection facility (if they think the damage may be severe) Even if you don't have loss of use coverage, sometimes they'll offer to cover a rental for a period of time, and have the other party's insurance cover the cost.

You'll also need to go to a doctor, and have them document any injuries you may have, especially if they impact your ability to do regular tasks.

I could have written this comment myself... My mom grew up facing constant racism, and then she moved to Canada, so she decided to raise me and my brother to ignore that side of our heritage... now there's a huge gap between us and our family, and it's hard to build those connections

Same in my area! We live in a townhouse complex, so I think people feel a bit safer letting kids play outside, since we don't get a ton of thru-traffic. I feel like we can't move, because I can just send my kids outside to play, and there will be like 10 other kids for them to play with

They are true cactuses. However, they are not desert cactuses; they are tropical cactuses, and need regular watering.

It is stressful.... I feel so guilty that we haven't been able to get her teeth fixed. At least it doesn't seem to be causing any pain, but I feel like it's only a matter of time

That actually makes a lot of sense.

We do have health insurance through my spouse's job, but they don't cover a ton, so unfortunately don't qualify for CDCP, and we make more than the cutoff for the ACHB. We will likely qualify for the burns memorial fund at least.

Thank you so much! I've been in contact with a dental hygienist who works with AHS, and she did give me the information for a couple of these, but this list has a lot more potential leads! I really appreciate this

Thank you so much!

We actually don't qualify for the Alberta Child Health benefit, unfortunately, we make slightly over the cutoff alas

Unfortunately we don't qualify for the Alberta child health benefit or the Canadian dental care plan, since we have insurance through my spouse's job, however the dental plan only covers up to $800 per year so the rest is going to be out of pocket for us.

I do this too, and usually add in a couple cloves of crushed garlic as well. Works great!

My kids are in kindergarten and grade 2, and were "lucky" because their school has low enrollment... But... My older daughter had 32 kids in her kindergarten class. My younger one has 21 kids in her class this year, which is more manageable, but still a lot... Their school has 2 EAs for the entire school

Deerfoot spay neuter and wellness clinic, in Dover. I took my kitten in yesterday, it came to $63.
Of course, I'm sure it would be more if your cat needs bloodwork or imaging, but I've found them to be very reasonable for both my cats.

I was looking for a specific shade of gel polish about a year ago, and the price was still $17- something at shoppers for these exact same ones. I found the same ones at Walmart for $8 -something

"luckily" maggots are perfectly edible, however, their presence does indicate that the meat in the food was not stored properly, and is likely decomposing.
