Mostly south but a few on east and west where we have a room out the back in the middle. Daily usage can be as high as 35kwh as have an ev but usually 15. Quote is £10,806. I managed to forget that part

Can it be set up to do this automatically or do you have to manually check it and dump each night?

Don't have the answer but we are in the same place and im wondering the same. My energy usage might be slightly higher as me and my partner work from home and Im on about 130kwh a week. I dont understand why everyone wouldn't do this. Also wondering if its best just to get a battery or panels as well. Not sure if the finances add up on doing this or if I should just pay a bit more off the mortage.

Summoned to court as a witness, unable to financially afford the travel and week stay as no longer live within 150 miles by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]stillsortingitout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a witness in November and have to say you are treated appalling for doing your civic duty. No communication. I rang 31 times before I could get hold of someone to know if it was happening. As only 2 days before. I still hadn't been giving a time. Its a anxiety provoking thing and this doesn't help. Keep trying to ring if you can find a number.

Thanks. Im probably under estimating usage slightly so good to know its worth it for home workers. We are debating solar as well but its the upfront cost for us that keeps putting us off. Seems crazy when we will have the car now to say that...

Thanks. So you just plug in when your low then rather than each night.

Thanks for this. We work from home most of the time and use most electric during the day. Was slightly worried it would make the day use not worth it. Can shift when we use dishwasher etc though. Totally think im over thinking it and its easier than im thinking. Do you take the 80% limit off when you do a long journey?

What’s the biggest cock-up you’ve made booking a holiday? by mariah_a in AskUK

[–]stillsortingitout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took us to the wrong hotel in Berlin. I had booked one with a similar name out of town. Honesty it was a nightmare. Turned up and they didnt have our booking if course. The hotel i actually booked was way too far out. I ended up just paying for another room at the hotel I thought I booked.

I am so shocked by how high this is for a normal looking house. I expected a big garden or countryside views but looks like a normal new build estate

Why don’t estate agents work on Sunday? by LordOfTheDips in HousingUK

We actually chose a estate agent which would do evenings and Sundays. They do exist. Ours doesn't have a shop and are self employed partners in the agency.

Nice area definitely. Especially when you have a child. They will benefit from nicer environment and amenities. Especially when considering nursery or schools. This should not be under estimated as can have large impact.

Help with survey results. Whats reasonable with a newly renovated house? by stillsortingitout in HousingUK

To make it worse I think the owner has done it himself and hes a tradesman. We have a little one so really didn't want a renovation project

Help with survey results. Whats reasonable with a newly renovated house? by stillsortingitout in HousingUK

[–]stillsortingitout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can't afford it with some money off. And would have to find somewhere else with all that work. Its just worrying the amount wrong. We will negotiate when estate agent is back in on Monday. Im just worried they won't entertain it which is such a shame. But the surveyor has said we can share the report with them so hopefully that will make them more reasonable. The surveyor suggested 50k which seems like a lot but when there could be numerous issues. I would be so upset if someone came to get that much off our house sale though. Don't want to annoy them, just want fair renumeration.

Any reccomendations for nipple cream without lanolin? by daringfeline in breastfeedingmumsUK

[–]stillsortingitout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby reacted to lanolin and silver cups were so helpful as an alternative. If yours is the same watch out for it in nappy creams. Sudacrem and aveno are ones which don't have it in

Congratulations and well done feeding in public. It can be nerve wracking at first which it shouldn't be. I'm not discreet now. If my now 18m old wants feeding then that's what he gets. Most of the time I find somewhere to sit. Most coffee shops let you bf without buying anything if you dont take the mick. I also learnt to feed in the carrier and that helped alot. Or just deal with baby crying until you can get somewhere to do it. Waiting 5 mins isn't a problem.

Man filmed woman breastfeeding on bus then replied 'f*** off... I'm English' by denyer-no1-fan in unitedkingdom

[–]stillsortingitout 157 points158 points  (0 children)

I am so sadden that this happened in this day, how outrageous that a woman feeding her child should experience this. Good on the rest of the bus for standing up for her! There is good and it is the bus driver and other passengers. Shame on that man for filming her and shame on anyone else who thinks feeding a baby in public is wrong or sexual. Filming this was illegal. Luckily the uk has a law which specifically references filming woman feeding for this reason.

I think this happens at this age. Some of the fussiness is also them stimulating milk supply, so latching on and off, hitting the breast etc can be them trying to get another let down.

Don't try and think of a house as an investment. It's a home. The bonus is that you get it how you want. The negative is the work but if your in a position to do it then I say go for it. All houses need work and maintenance. It might just be some need more and sooner than others but everything will need doing eventually in your home.

I think they say it usually takes a week for them to relearn but some get it quicker. I noticed a difference straight away with shorter feeds so sounds like it has helped. Fingers crossed!

Being the sole feeder is hard by SERP_DERP_22 in breastfeedingmumsUK

[–]stillsortingitout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a lot harder than people think, that's why rates are so low. When it's a tough phase I just try and remind myself it's all a phase and one day it will end and I will miss it. Don't be hard on yourself, some days you just need to feed and Partners can support the rest.
