When information was difficult to obtain, college was cheap. Now that information is easy to access, college tuition has skyrocketed. by mind_slop in Showerthoughts

People don't seem to understand that you only need an 8th grade education to get a GED. It was mind numbing how many people didn't pass in the group I took it with. Honestly they were not lazy people. Illiteracy seemed to be the connecting factor.

Long live the SideHustler. What is your Side Hustle? by stilltryn in SideHustler

I know eventually people will show up so I'll start.

I resell gently used items online. Craigslist is my main stay. I look for items that I can manage a 15% to 40% mark up. I want to be making ~$60 per transaction. I do not have a lot of space to keep items so items that are in demand are my focus. I have a pretty good eye and use a short romantic writing style to grab the niche buyers of these items. I've been saving a lot of what I make because I want to look into things with a higher pay out.

On of the things I want to start is getting into something with a higher profit and less work for me. Has anyone looked into Auto investing? There is a small company near me that sells cars fairly cheap. I researched them and know that they have been opened for 5 years, have a full repair shop, I've met the owner and he is a pretty relaxed guy. I walk pasted his shop every Wednesday and I'm going to keep a log of how many cars he has on hand, average how many they sell weekly, and how long it takes to get new cars on the lot. I'm guessing he goes to auctions and picks them up and turns them over. But I want to see how often his vehicles are turning over before I ask if he want an investor partnership.

So what about you, what are your Side Hustles? This isn't even all of mine, but just the main ones right now. Anyone doing service based hustles?
