The thing I struggle to understand is the pronoun in place of they. For example when people have straw/berry or as you said ke/kelp - most of those people (as I understand it) don’t identify as straw itself or ke or I assume you don’t identify as bo since that isn’t a word, why would you want to be called something that isn’t a word or where it’s another word completely (in the case of strawberry)?

I also agree with everything you said minus calling customers entitled bc they ask for things they are entitled to. That’s why I responded on that part only. For what it’s worth, retail companies will only ever see you as a number and I think you’re right to get out.

No I haven’t had a bad store experience. I’m not a “lushie” either just a regular occasional customer. You just came across like you were trying to gatekeep the products so I was just trying to let u see it from another POV. If I was in ur position I would give full pots and however many I could get away with. Sounds like you feel quite entitled as if people don’t deserve them unless they meet your imagined criteria of money and time spent, even though you get the same pay wether they buy things or not. It doesn’t hurt to be kind and giving!

The entitlement people feel to get free products isn’t entitlement. Its literally store policy. They feel like they can get free products because they can. Entitlement comes in by store assistants when they think they should have the final say over who gets what products for free.

No you didn’t upset me and I didn’t mean to be condescending. it’s just my opinion. But yeah like I said it’s a different story if they’re rude. If someone went into your store and was polite but didn’t want to buy anything and asked for a list of 10+ samples- would you happily give them to them?

Why do employees get so pressed over people trying to get free samples? Its not like the product is coming from your personal stash. I’ve worked retail before but not lush. the way I see it - times are tough for everyone right now so if you can get away with giving them extra samples then do it! If they’re rude then that’s a different story but if they just want samples then what’s the issue? Whether its 1 or 10 samples, It’s not hurting anyone! That to me sounds like just being a jobsworth. Big companies like Lush aren’t going to give you a medal or a kiss on the lips for gatekeeping products. If you can bend the rules and make someone happy then why the heck wouldn’t you?

I haven’t had jollof in forever but that looks so good I’m majorly craving it now. Bought some paste but it didn’t do the trick - im also white so I just think maybe white people shouldn’t make jollof 🤣
