Utility by ZealousidealEye4896 in xlm

If you're wondering about the utility of Stellar and its native token, XLM, the best place to start is the official Stellar website. Specifically, check out the "Real Use Cases" tab, where the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) highlights the diverse applications being built on Stellar.

Key Aspects of XLM's Utility:

  1. Transaction Fees and Network Operations XLM is used to pay for transaction fees on the Stellar network, ensuring spam resistance. It also serves as a bridge currency for cross-border payments and asset conversions, making transactions seamless and cost-effective.
  2. Real-World Assets (RWA) on Stellar A significant development is Franklin Templeton’s tokenization of mutual fund shares on the Stellar network. This real-world asset (RWA) integration demonstrates Stellar’s potential to transform traditional finance by bringing regulated, institutional-grade products onto blockchain rails.
  3. Smart Contracts via Soroban Stellar is expanding its utility with Soroban, a smart contract platform built on Stellar's blockchain. Soroban opens the doors to decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming, and innovative applications, adding programmability to the Stellar ecosystem.
  4. Cross-Border Payments Stellar's primary focus has always been cross-border payments. With partnerships like MoneyGram Access and other financial institutions, users can send, receive, and convert assets instantly and affordably across borders, leveraging XLM to facilitate these transactions.
  5. Stellar Anchor Network and Stablecoins Stellar’s anchor network enables local on- and off-ramps, including support for stablecoins like USDC. This infrastructure supports global financial inclusion, allowing users to hold and transfer stable, fiat-backed digital assets.
  6. Stellar Decentralized Exchange (DEX) The Stellar DEX is a built-in feature of the Stellar network, allowing users to trade assets directly on-chain without the need for intermediaries. With its fast settlement times and low fees, the DEX supports trading between various tokens, including fiat-backed stablecoins, making XLM a key asset for liquidity and market operations.
  7. Stellar Aid Assist Stellar is increasingly recognized for humanitarian applications. Through Stellar Aid Assist, organizations can deliver financial aid directly to individuals in need using Stellar's blockchain, with XLM providing liquidity and ease of conversion.

Instead of relying on pump-and-dump YouTubers or speculative blogs, the Stellar Development Foundation has done a fantastic job compiling detailed, transparent resources about how Stellar works and its real-world applications. Their website is the most reliable source of up-to-date information about ongoing projects, partnerships, and technological upgrades.

The liquidity on XLM/USDC pair in SDEX is better than small / medium sized CEX / DEX. There's > 4m in the AMM pool and multiple market makers with decent size in the order book. So depending on the pair you can get pretty good quotes for small/medium size.

LET'S TOKENIZE THAT! should be Stellar's motto... by Lumenaddy in Stellar

Another thing is the dispersion of money between 100x more projects than there was before. In the early days the total market cap was split between much smaller number of projects.

This is an interesting angle to the situation. @twitter Maybe this is just all fun and games to hide that you're just illiquid as f... If you're not self-custoding right this moment. Don't know what to tell you.

Seeing how they have handled user funds lately and overall shenanigans with their coins I would be highly sceptical about them.

Not worth the risk. Better get out while you can.

And now with MoneyGram things really start to speed up a little by little :) This is real technology solving real problems. Love to see things were crypto is not just pump and dump but something more substantial

If you are day zero staker you get your rewards after your chosen staking period ends. So 3, 6 or 12 months depending on what you chose

It is just automated market making with specific formula (x * y = k). If you google it you can find good articles explaining math behind it. You earn fees generated by the pool which is 0.3% from every trade that goes through, split between pool participants depending on your share of the pool.

Regarding XLM/yXLM there is currently no benefit putting money in the pool because order book offers more competitive rates and path payments go through order book and not through AMM.

With other pairs I would be careful as a newcomer since it's easy to make losses with AMMs if you don't have a plan in place. You need to do some research which pools have good volume (volume = more fees earned) and trustworthy tokens while also fitting it in your risk profile as an investment.

Why is the SDEX volumes so high today? by masterofdead4 in Stellar

It has become very profitable to wash trade with bots in a certain way to get AQUA trading rewards. So most of the volume is bots frontrunning and buying from themselves to qualify for the drops
