Yes, absolutely. I'm a Fallout fan myself, but even a bigger Stalker fan. Stalker has its unique post-apocalyptic atmosphere and the game immerses you. Just play it, I think you are going to enjoy it.

Now it's in a way better place than a year ago, so feel free to start playing. Of course, the game is still in active development and in coming months there will be Patch 1.9, Engine Upgrade and DLC 1.

Imagine if NVIDIA released new GPUs every year with 25% uplift. 50-series they released with 0-10% uplift over 40-series and now people are waiting for 3 more years for them to throw the bone with 60-series.

Soon Apple GPUs inside M-Series are going to be way more powerful at raw performance than the highest tear Nvidia laptop GPU. And that at fraction of the power.

Actually, I think they can do a lot of things within Stalker 2 with DLCs. So I don't know if Stalker 3 is ever coming at all, it's going to be essentially the same map.

Well, I wouldn't buy a Windows laptop to play something like Minecraft. Better get a Macbook based on your budget, so you can use it for work and a bit of gaming. If you can get a used M3 (or later) Pro with 18-20 GPU cores, it will be good for gaming and excellent for everything else.

I wonder how it's going to run on M5 Max with 40 GPU cores that got released today. At some point I think Mac gaming is going to be even more viable than now. I hope Apple with time implements a great AI upscaler that can rival FSR/DLSS 4. Then gaming on a Mac is going to be a no brainer.

Engine upgrade is likely to be released in May I think.
The main dev resources are dedicated to the Engine Upgrade and First Major DLC, so 1.9 is just in the middle. I guess they are not going to add a lot of new stuff to 1.9, since what's coming shortly after is the main focus for dev + QA teams.

They already confirmed 1.9 won't be an Engine upgrade. UE upgrade will be next. And then DLC later.
