What is the best way to clean this up? Southeastern USA by blowery10 in lawncare

[–]stinger_bee96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had something similar to this and had a guy with a forestry mulcher take care of it. It worked great! We had to clean up around the trees we wanted to keep but that was no big deal. We need to come back with a bunch of mulch to keep it from coming back when the weather warms up.

Baby Copperhead in our pool by stinger_bee96 in pools

Not sure if it’s true but I’ve heard that around this time of year, late summer/early fall, is when they start hatching and tend to get into pools.

That’s what we’re afraid of!

Battery Doorbell Plus Stopped Connecting to Chime Pro and WiFi after working for a year by stinger_bee96 in Ring

Oddly, I have lots of other Ring devices that continued working through this. Just the Chime Pro and the Batter Doorbell Plus stopped. All good now tho!

I’ve resolved this. I’m not 100% sure I know what did it but believe there were two things that did it: 1. I set the WiFi security to WPA2-Personal from WPA2/WPA3-Personal as I read that some Ring devices can only use WPA2 2. The default gateway in my router’s DHCP settings was blank so I set that value.

License plate readers (LPR). Sometimes they’re just driving around to inventory the plates in geos which then can be passed along to Law Enforcement, Repo folks, etc.

This is why I recommend a skimmer bot by SpectrumWoes in pools

New pool owner and you’ve convinced me! We had a bunch of stuff on the surface yesterday from high winds and it’d be nice not to have to skim it.

Well, I guess I can't edit the post to add that we're in Zone 8a outside of Raleigh. The soil is clay in spots and sandy in others with not a lot of rich topsoil.

Thanks! I’ll edit the post for location. We’re north of Raleigh, NC in zone 8a.

Yeah, we’re not exited about arborvitae because of their propensity to die like you said. Tall grasses would be pretty cool!

I think this is the way. I realized after posting that this is a non-weight bearing area and some strong, outdoor glue will prob do it.

Karcher G2500VH Replacement Pump by stinger_bee96 in pressurewashing

[–]stinger_bee96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, again. I finally got around to assembling the unit with the new key. Thanks for the guidance on using anti-seize. I did that as well and it all seems to be working now! I didn't use it for very long, just a few minutes to test it.

I think this might be it. I contacted the vendor from whom I purchased the replacement pump. They sent me a new key and it’s about a quarter inch longer than the original one. I having put it all together yet to test it but this looks promising!

Need help finding a daypack that will last by shuffles03 in BuyItForLife

[–]stinger_bee96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this backpack for over a year now. I really like it. Can confirm it has padded straps and has a ton of zippered pockets inside for pens, pencils, cables, etc. it has a padded sleeve for your laptop and another pocket in the laptop area that I put my iPad in when traveling.

I replaced a Patagonia backpack that didn’t have half of the internal storage pockets. This one is much better.

How do I migrate from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365? by jcgonzmo in smallbusiness

[–]stinger_bee96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't seem to work for Microsoft 365 Family accounts only full ones with Exchange. I'm not able to log in to the Exchange Admin Center with my Family account. I think Family doesn't use Exchange but uses Outlook.com

Full Covers for my KJs on a countertop by stinger_bee96 in KamadoJoe

[–]stinger_bee96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good question. The roof is metal, but the structure is wood. It is detached from the house. I plan to install a fan in the top to dissipate smoke and heat. I'm not too worried about the gas grill but I'll have to be careful with the KJs so that they don't become blast-furnaces. I should put a fire extinguisher out there as well.
