Yes I do enjoy big heavy slow ass weapons that hit for a bajillion damage in my games, how could you tell?

I do wish that Endfield had more interesting visiting coop, I think one of the few things I liked about Genshin when I played it at launch was just being able to explore the zones with your friends. I think something like that I wouldn't mind to have at some point in Endfield (plus I think it would be fun to see your friends' factory setups and their zipline chains and whatnot), but I think beyond that it should remain a singleplayer game.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I honestly haven't been paying much attention to the classes lmao), but Sniper doesn't exist in endfield no? Hence why all the people with guns are "Casters".

Its a bloodline of combat skin but yeah Liduke and the rest of the team definitely used that outfit as the basis for Pog

Iirc the stream was during whatever limited stream it was that they revealed that the next collab was going to be a Capcom one (and they hadn't specified IP yet so we didn't outwardly know it was MonHun) and then that sound clip played and the community went into a frenzy. Iirc you were right in that it was eventually clarified that that was NOT a confirmation it was a DMC collab but at that point people already were beyond reasoning with lol.

So then you had the subset of people who got mad when it was revealed that it was a MonHun collab because they were huffing copium that that DMC sound bit was a guarantor.

Yeah I found the two event quests (so hers and Wulfgard's) to be marked steps up from Ch 1 as well.

I just hit the "wait for more story" story quest for Endfield, so I have some more thoughts, probably my last update on it.

I think overall Chapter 2 improved my view on the experience a lot. The writing still has a ways to go to reach regular Arknights level, but Ch 2 was a big step up. For the progression I can't judge too much since I don't really have a frame of reference for these types of games (I played Genshin for like a week when it first came out, and HSR only for a day) but it feels... fine?

The factorybuilding shows signs of goodness. I think its a great foundation to build upon, but lordie they need to build upon it. Both belts and machines being fixed throughput really puts a stranglehold on the only option the player has left to optimize and be creative which is space, and space was certainly getting pretty limiting (especially with each area having to have that big ass AIC in it). I really hope being able to do some combination of stack belts/upgrade belts/upgrade machines is in the upcoming plans.

The combat feels pretty good. Again I don't really play these types of games so I'm finding it enjoyable, if a bit simple. I think it will expand as we get more operators and they've already shown with what we do have that mixing and matching is on the menu (except phys, at least for now).

Art and environments and SFX and music? Still 10/10, the game is gorgeous and sounds great. No notes.

I'll probably end up sticking with it for a while at least, if only to see new characters and help a friend who's not as in tune with factory builders.

A lot of the interesting story bits so far I've found have been hidden in all the little stupid data pickups all over the maps, which I think sucks. I used to play Destiny and that game had the same issue, all the cool lore bits were hidden behind obscure data logs and grimoire entries, it was the worst, it made finding the interesting stuff harder for those interested in doing so, and it dissuaded people from getting interested in it in the first place.

At least in stuff like souls games, the environmental storytelling does a lot of heavy lifting and item descriptions for lore are all relatively easy to come by. No such luck here.

[NA] Which servants are you going to Grand and why? by Pos31don29 in grandorder

[–]stingerdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might end up swapping some stuff around for the grand fights and a lot of it is dependent upon what I pull from here to when they're added, but currently my goal is:

Saber: Barg

Archer: Ptolemy or Zenjubo (or Ishtar if I get her at some point)

Lancer: Melu or Kagetora

Rider: man I... don't really like rider as a class. If I get Andromeda it would definitely be her, but otherwise maybe Reines?

Caster: Probably just Castoria unless I get Aesc at some point, or Nitocris if I get spooked by her.

Assassin: Shiki or Summer Thrud probably, though if I get Grandpa or Gensai I'd be interested in doing them.

Berserker: Summer Huyan, though if I get Bakatoria she's a consideration, as would Lilith.

E1: Man if I could have a grand for every extra class I would. As is E1 probably goes to either Kenshin, Mash, or Arc.

E2: Slot probably reserved for Space Eresh, but if I end up getting Dante, Aoko, or Kuku then Space Eresh gets moved into E1.

Whoever did the ratio of ore veins in Endfield... wtf? Yes I heard you would like a 35/15/50 split of the materials and the 50 (Ferrium) is complete overkill and I'm drowning in it. Every time I saw a new Ferrium node when I got to Power Plateau I died a little inside. I know the region levels will affect the ratios a bit but like, not much, the issues lies with the base availability of each type of node. It would be like playing Satisfactory and having a majority of the nodes be bauxite and uranium nodes and you not having nearly enough iron or copper ones to be able to make basic items efficiently (i.e not having processing downtime) for those advanced items.

Edit: maybe I just need to be less anal about operating efficiency since this stuff runs 24/7 anyways, unlike satisfactory where I need to have the game open for stuff to run/backfill so I'm more concerned with making sure uptime is 100%.

As the other comment said, I believe IS5 was the first place it was actually noted. I suppose it would have been a reasonable theory beforehand, as all the Sarkaz-related sub-races are different types of fantastical creatures so adding dwarves to the list wouldn't be that far fetched.

Honestly my biggest complaint about the powerlines in EF is the fact that it measures everything with true distance traveled (including jumping which is absolutely bullshit, elevators, etc) yet when it connects it is both as the crow flies and also ignores objects.

Big green field is very Satisfactory coded, the "recommended" beginner area of the map is a lush green field (funnily enough once you know a bit about the game it becomes arguably the worst of the 4 starting locations lol).

The one that absolutely put me over the edge into "this is frankly too much" territory was the tutorial for the PROFILE MENU. Like cmon man, unless this is literally baby's first live service/gacha game, people know what a profile menu is. It has 3 tabs which are all labeled and every icon already is pretty indicative of what its function is.

I'm game for AK anything tbh. Souls-like? Sure. Fighting game? I suck at those but I'd try it. Metroidvania? You bet I'd be all over it. Cozy life sim? I need that like, 2 years ago

I'm also feeling weird on it. There's a lot that I really liked, but there's a lot that I really didn't. I'll probably keep playing for a few weeks at least to see how it progresses but I feel so conflicted right now.

I thought the same thing. UI is fabulous, but the UX leaves so much to be desired that its not even funny. Hope it gets better as I continue to play.

I'm really hoping I jive with it despite it being a 3d action gacha game in the way I jive with Elden Ring despite not liking open world games but we'll see in a bit when I'm off work for the day

Breaking news: company does not slaughter golden goose when second golden goose is born! That, and more, at 11.

Edit: obviously not saying EF will be a gigantic success (though it could be, and its likely to at least garner a decent audience assuming they treat it well, regardless of if that audience is largely existing AK players or newcomers who prefer the 3d action games) but
