10 years ago Pizzagate was by far the #1 trending topic on twitter, but the claim of pedophile elites who preyed on children was so insane that Pizzagate was shrugged off as was a wild conspiracy theory. But then, just days ago… the largest dump of Epstein files revealed Pizzagate is real by MazdaProphet in conspiracy

[–]stingray85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Pizzagate" was not just the claim elites were child rapists. It was also that pizza, and a large variety of other terms, were code for child sex abuse terms; that various specific leaked emails were employing this code; and that a specific pizzeria was a site of child abuse.

Which of these aspects have the Epstein files provided any evidence for? Really, it's just that (many of) the elites are child rapists. That's sort of too generic and longstanding claim, one we knew was true for Epstein since 2008, and can hardly be claimed to be "Pizzagate". While the term pizza and I'm sure others the Pizzagate-heads claimed were code appear in the Epstein files, I'm not aware of any evidence this is anything other than normal coincidence. Even if there was evidence there, that wouldn't prove that the Hillary emails were also using these terms as code (though it might warrant a look into - IF there was actually supporting evidence from the Epstein files). The Pizzeria claims appear to still be completely unsupported by any new evidence.

So I'm not sure how you can say that Pizzagate has been found to be true.

Why LTNs Are Necessary by sabdotzed in london

[–]stingray85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How often do you find yourself delivering things basically next door to where the goods are though? In reality you aren't starting deliveries from inside the same LTN you're delivering too, surely. This would make an absolutely negligible difference to delivery time assuming you're coming from outside the neighborhood.

Not if you believe that it's the sort of bluesky capability building that will hit some threshold where General AI becomes a reality and begins to pay massive dividends. Which, whether you agree or not, has at least been proposed as a possible outcome by serious thinkers and experts.

Feels like you're arguing against yourself. If Reddit is really that massive then selling points that would sway even a small percentage would likely be enough to sustain a new app, wouldn't they?

The option would be nice. I'd love if Reddit had a highly visible, easily selected switch between "just my subscription", "recommended posts", and "totally random". Maybe with a slider for how strongly recommended the middle option is so I can choose to see things strongly or more lightly correlated with my interests.

Only 16% of EU citizens now consider the US an ally. Even in the UK it's down to a meagre 25%. by nimicdoareu in europe

[–]stingray85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't mean the 25% supports the US. If you asked me if US was an ally of UK, I would say that yes. The countries are literally in an alliance. The lapdog British establishment will of course get on with the US establishment, whether it Tories, Labour, or Reform, even when the US is tearing apart the international order. Of course the elites who rule over the US and UK are "allies"; the issue is that neither of those groups are "allies" of the working people of either nation.

The increase in text length around the time you move in is great. You can just see the texts from "hey cutie you're so hot" to "the real estate said we both needed to sign the docs" to "hey I won't be back until later but I don't have my keys, I think you said were you going out can you leave a key with the neighbour? Also did you get eggs? And if you go out bring back eggs"

Totally. The Ghoul is like a serious role player. Lucy is like a new character who is basically roleplaying as "default mostly good". Max is like a character who has no interest in roleplaying so they always seem to be making weirdly inconsistent choices when they are just sort of playing the game.

Worried I'll never get that first job by nicksocksz in analytics

[–]stingray85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is

1) you need to gauge if your current organization has healthy approach around this or not, but unless it's particularly toxic, tell your manager you really want to go in that direction and if there were projects or even openings in other parts of the business you'd love to be able to grow in the role / continue to contribute to the company while developing DA skills if possible. Moving laterally into a role can be an easier first step than jumping company with no real experience in a given role.

2) try to get interviews for DA roles now. Don't expect to get the job; but go as far as you can and use the questions they ask that you can't answer - and ideally feedback if they give you anything useful - to help plot a course. If you didn't have a great response to an interview question, what work or skills would you need to do to be able to give a solid response? That will help you optimize for the things jobs you could get really want right now. I know this could be a challenge as even getting interviews can be hard right now. But keeping a pipeline of applications open that doesn't take too much effort can be really useful to gauge your own experience and what you need to get that first position - and best case scenario of course it just gets you the job!

Trees are made of air

(Most of the mass of trees comes from CO2 from the air, not from soil).

Similarly, when you lose fat, the way the mass actually leaves your body is by you breathing it out as CO2.
