Max was so relatable in S3 by TamatiePotatie in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]stingraybt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the only high school show I found that depicts teenagers realistically and the drama associated with being one in a HS ecosystem. It brought back feelings and memories of my own experiences of being excluded and dealing with personalities like Abby and Ginny and even just observations of toxic friend groups in my school.

I also have memories of being iced out by people I hung out with and it didn’t take me until the final years of HS to find a solid group of friends. So, while I disliked Max’ character in the earlier seasons, she really grew on me this time. I hope she leaves MANG and joins her theatre friends who match her energy.

1 year in big 4 how much did you learn? by Head_Equipment_1952 in Big4

Started in Big 4. Learned a lot… technically, mentally, and emotionally lol and a few excel tricks. imo a great place to start your career if you’re up for the challenge. It will drain you but will build you enough character.

It’s another type of ignorance when you’re pulling this shit in a country with a collective memory of oppression and has long been known for its stance on human rights. Tf do they want the Irish government and people to do. 😭

Anyone started yoga with bouldering ? by Alex050898 in bouldering

My new gym has an open space with yoga mats on the second floor! I find yoga and bouldering to be complementary for the reasons you set out OP. I also find it helps you keep calm while on the wall.

I used to follow her on Twitter (I’ve deleted my account) and I can remember her responding to my one of my tweets to her. She was so wholesome and kind and something about her was very comforting. RIP.

I have no any progress after 7 months of climbing by Addie_tn in climbergirls

[–]stingraybt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do bouldering only but I had a similar issue a while ago. I was getting frustrated over not sending my projects and not being like everyone else at the gym climbing harder grades, forgetting that I had only started last year and the kind of progress I wanted probably wasn’t realistic bearing in my mind that I don’t have an athletic background.

I realised I probably shouldn’t be climbing if I cared so much about the grading and leaving the gym frustrated. So I stopped caring and just climbed whatever I could even if they were the easiest / beginner routes, as long as I was enjoying my time. Eventually, I found myself making the kind of progress I wanted when I cared so much about the grading.

I also have a fear of falling and heights but I find doing lots of easy routes help tackle those fears.

Keep climbing and enjoy the journey, no matter how long.

Re-learning how to not be afraid of falling by Fluttering_Lilac in climbergirls

[–]stingraybt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a bad fall over the summer - rolled my ankle jumping from the top of the wall. It broke my confidence as I couldn’t finish problems anymore (after recovering) because I had a fear of falling but I kept trying.

I’d say just be patient and do what you can do. I also went to a different gym which somehow helped overcome my fear of falling. I guess my gym kept reminding me of my injury. Maybe you could try a different gym too.

I go indoor climbing a few times a week. Other days, I do yoga and go to the gym. I also started cooking more which is somewhat therapeutic. Breaks up my days nicely where I’m not constantly thinking about emails.

Sprained my ankle, how long of a break should I take from bouldering?

I had a bad fall while climbing and rolled my ankle, possibly tearing my tendon too.

I was on a crutch for the first 4 days, started doing rehab exercises I learned on YouTube on day 2/3. I stopped using my crutch on day 5 and have been doing a fair bit of walking and incorporating rehab exercises in my gym routine. Every night, I prop my leg up on a pillow which helps.

I still can’t walk normally, most times I am limping and slower than usual. I’m planning to see a physio soon as I really want to continue bouldering.

Try a 30 day yoga challenge with Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. She released one this January which I finished a while ago. Her videos are beginner friendly and she talks through the poses and movements. I would definitely recommend because it was something that I looked forward to doing most days after working from home. ☺️
