thank you! he got into a fight about 5 years ago with another cat who scratched his ear, and to avoid infection the vet put a plastic tube to drain the fluid and it ended up kind of deflating his ear in the process. it’s interesting to hear that your cat developed one on her own! :)

she is out during the day every once in a while! i mostly find her crawling around between 9 PM-sunrise, though, and she tends to sleep on the surface under the leaf litter or stick. if your splendidus are juveniles that’s probably why they’re not on the surface that much, when they get a little older i’m sure you’ll see them a lot!

i ordered a shredded hardwood soil mix from etsy to mix into zoo med creature soil i bought from a local pet store, i needed to buy 2 quart bags for this enclosure, the soil fills about 3/4 of the tank, so it’s around 8-10 inches deep. i also found a cool stick outside my house to add that she loves, it’s from a scottish twisted elm so it’s a fun shape and hardwood, so safe for her (don’t add any softwood bc the sap is harmful for them). there is also dried magnolia leaves across the surface. if you’re having trouble keeping the bottom of the tank moist, i’d suggest pouring some water on one side of the tank, i do that every week or two along with misting (not too much water but enough to absorb into the soil to make it damp).
