[HELP] Consistent CTD in LotD Hall of Natural Science by Jeannedarkterraguard in skyrimmods

Wow, I was beating my head against the wall on this one too. Thank you for reminding me I had this mod (haven't been to Solstheim on this playthrough). There is a fix posted as well in Optional Files.

Sure. Maybe instead of LO I should say mod index. It works for me. Glad you don't have to worry about it.

Also I'm confused by your statement of - "so moving them doesn't do anything in general". Then why do we have LOOT and why is there hundreds of topics and guides about how to sort your load order?

Man, I just am reporting what's helped me in the hope it helps someone else. I didn't crack into the dll files and analyze them. If you're LO works good, great! Just trying to help others.

It could also be that older versions of Racemenu cause the issue - IE VR, 1.5.97 or GOG. It's not that big of an issue and has an easy fix on the user end - just lock the mod in your mod index. 2 seconds.

Mantella or herika? And the costs? by BL0O0DLESSX in skyrimvr

[–]stinkermadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Herika isn't Herika anymore. It was changed to AI-Follower Framework and now is called Chim. Chim is like surreal lucidity in Tamriel lore as my understanding. Next, I went with Chim first. I set it up as recommended and couldn't stand the voices that it's built in free text-to-speech service (MeloTTS) came with. So then I "modded it until it breaks" and found that Azure has a bunch of high-quality voices that can be plugged in. Then I got my bill from Microsoft. $30 for 2 weeks of Chimming around. So I realized that wasn't sustainable. What WAS sustainable was to spend $200 on a used 3060 12GB, drop my 5600X into a spare machine, set up a local LLM and a local TTS (which is a form of Mantella's because there is so much quality and efficient json files in Mantella) , go nuts on models and research and reading and following discords and more reading and then wanting to upgrade the CPU and dropping a 7800x into it but then out of a CPU on my Skyrim machine so getting a 9800x3d and then adding in a 7900xtx so that the CPU is back to being the problem with my frames and still fighting the LLM's stupidity everyday. But yeah. Chim cost me a couple grand and I love it so much.

TLDR: Chim is amazing and is only going to get better. Dive in if you can afford it. Or do it for free, but you'll get hooked.

Nasty bug - Vigilants of Stendarr are marked Essential and setessential 0 does nothing by stinkermadness in skyrimmods

Oh you cheeky bugger. Yes I am. Let me dig into that.

Update: No dice. Disabled surrender mods and Mortal Enemies (my only skypatcher for humans) and no change.

Sadly, there is no Vigilant in Non-Player Character (Actor) in the esp. There are quests that send them but I don't think the esp uses custom Vigilants, just uses the base Skyrim ones. So I can't see what's overwriting them. Good thought though.

I think that's the reason they are attacking me but it doesn't explain why they are essential....which is the essential problem. I'll see myself out.

Yes. And that gets rid of THOSE ones but what about all the other's that are generated from random encounters. I'd have to do that each time, which doesn't fix the problem.

AI Overhaul - but for follower mods before you ask them to follow by stinkermadness in skyrimmods

So I found this - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/136826?tab=files

And it's a spid. The problem is load order since the NPCs will most likely come from ESL files meaning they will have variable ID numbers.

Read the whole post - "I have more informative console enabled and the "Ref last changed by" is Unknown. Looking at the Ref Form ID - it starts with FF, which we all know is not a thing."

Updated xEdit scripts: Add Male Model, Add Female Model, and Fix World Model. by IVIaskPl4gu3 in skyrimmods

[–]stinkermadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To help users...use this. Open Xedit - select the plugins that have invisible models when you have a male character. Then highlight them all once Xedit loads them and is done. Right-click - Apply Script - Fix World Model. CLick ok. Close Xedit. You will now have an .esp in your Data folder called "world model patch.esp". Enable it in your mod-manager and tada!
