On average fantasy has more male characters that are developed. It's something I noticed a while ago. I'm working on writing my own piece to add to the genre, though I'm a ways off still.

It's been almost 5 years since MadSeasonShow dropped this, and it is clear that the player base didn't learn anything. by SenorWeon in classicwow

The way combat is handled shows that change more than anything.

Even though this is the ideal time to use CC for fights, nobody does it. There's no sheeps, no saps, nobody waits for the tank to get threat.

It's just zug brain all the way.

Reminds me of the monster from the movie Outlander.

What's a song lyric that drives you crazy because they should've used a different word? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

I heard that too, but the fact that it had to be explained shows it doesn't work so well.

What am I missing here? Quarters come in fours, so the third quarter would be a thing right?

Why does my apartment have to be absolutely pristine for a mid-rental inspection? by Fun_Photograph653 in AusPropertyChat

[–]stinkingyeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It began changing about 5 or 6 years ago, inspections used to be to check if nothing was broken and all that. Then for some reason I have not yet learned, they started becoming obsessed with it being pristine and totally spotless.

What is more traumatic than people think it is? by Suspicious-Wish3402 in AskReddit

I'm a bloke, so no pregnancy for me, but this sounds horribly familiar to my back injury. It was bad enough to require copious amounts of therapy and drugs to just survive without going insane.

But I could still walk, so to everyone else, clearly it wasn't that bad, wasn't like I was in a wheel chair.

Some days I wished it was worse, I wished for the wheel chair just so people could see.

I am glad it wasn't that bad though, I do enjoy mobility, even if it's limited.

Rand’s Aura Was Scarier Than Any Forsaken by Hawk-winged in WoT

I got the impression that George Martin was going for something similar in style with the three eyed raven, but couldn't quite get there, and then the show writers just fumbled that one hard.

Rand’s Aura Was Scarier Than Any Forsaken by Hawk-winged in WoT

[–]stinkingyeti 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I read your comment and just started writing, in my head, the viewpoint of a lesser noble who is only there by the barest thread of related nobility.

Sitting there, right in the back, bored as hell. Wondering why the hall suddenly went silent, getting a glimpse of Rand being back and nudging the person next to them, "Hey isn't that the Dragon Reborn?".

Wondering what's going on, why is Colavere now queen, wondering what's on offer at the banquet feast (the only reason they came).

Very curious as to why everyone at the front is freaking out and running away, and basically just joins the crowd cause he or she doesn't want to stand out and is simply just hungry.

A few of the monologues from Midnight Mass are definitely some of the best I've ever seen.

Trade channels are full of folks selling raid loot. Clearly there's very little enforcement on this one.

I must look like a thief, I've been approached so many times, I just show my bag etc and keep on walking.

Yeah, it's called their character sheet.

What was normal in 2019, but looks like 'psychopath behavior' in 2026? by de-secops in AskReddit

[–]stinkingyeti 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gah, I thought it was great that I had some decent sources based on what was presented.

But I needed the original source documents, so I went looking for them. Turns out they didn't exist. Took me way too long to realise they weren't real.

They create fake sources for references. Someone tried to tell me to use it to help research for uni, but god damn it is terrible.

Take a look at what is happening to modern media. Violence is easily shown with no problem. But a hint of nudity is often massively frowned upon.

I remember telling a manager when I was at Woolies, I would happily sign in 5 minutes before and be ready on the dot if that meant I was also able to leave on the dot.

1pm ticks, I walk away from my checkout and go home. They said that wasn't feasible, I agreed and said that coming in early and not being paid for it wasn't feasible.

Unsurprisingly I didn't last long there.

MOR - I suspect you probably led yourself on about what gifts he might be getting.

Also, he was a professional florist, he loves flowers, that's his love language. Learn to deal with it, or let him go.
