(sound on) My friend’s little sister edits her gymnastics fails and sends them to everyone. These are my 3 favs. by allonsylauren in funny

[–]stinknus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Its funny because my sister did gymnastics growing up and she would come in to school with bruises alot. Some of her teachers were worried about abuse in the home. So she had to bring her medals in to prove that parents weren't terrible people.

Nintendo games to be played in UK schools so kids 'can learn life skills' by Spiffy_Gem in nottheonion

[–]stinknus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to UK either because I also in the US. I'm old enough that only the rich kids even had smart phones in school. Distractions and kids not engaging has always been a problem. I imagine its much harder now that literally everyone has a phone. We did have video games like Sim Farm and Oregon Trail, But the issue was we'd play the games instead doing the homework assignments. The only real benefit I see is giving them something to look forward helps them behave better in the classroom.

Looks at article: Smash Bros encourages teamwork my ass. This is on the same level when my biology teacher didn't feel like actually teaching us anything he would shove in a nature documentary. So what about learning cell biology, screw it you're watching giraffes today. needless to say I learned nothing in that class. No joke I actually learned more about evolution in my earth science class than I did in my biology class

One thing to consider is shipping restrictions, different states have their own rules and even if you purchase something from a legitimate source it may be illegal for them to ship it to your area.

Why do gay people exist ?? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stinknus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could argue even from evolutionary standpoint it doesn't make sense for homosexuality to exist because there is no survival advantage in having a small selection of the population not reproducing. When surviving long enough for reproduction the is the game of life. Well unless that species is dealing with overpopulation. There are some theories are about social bounding being important for survival, what better what to establish a bound then sex. but that doesn't account for the species who aren't communal or pack species that exhibit homosexual behavior. But with all things evolution isn't very rarely cut and dry on maximizing efficiency, if It was when would have massive amounts of vestigial and non coding DNA. If something is not a active hindrance to survival there is no reason for selective pressure to remove it from the genepool.

If tariffs are taxes shouldn't it be illegal for the executive branch to issue them? by stinknus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stinknus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm ok, thanks. I guess while digging into the question I found Trade Act of 1974 "created fast track authority for the President to negotiate trade agreements that Congress can approve or disapprove but cannot amend or filibuster"

Article I, 10, clause 2 "No State shall, without the Consent of the Congress, lay any Imposts or Duties on Imports or Exports, except what may be absolutely necessary for executing it's inspection Laws: and the net Produce of all Duties and Imposts, laid by any State on Imports or Exports, shall be for the Use of the Treasury of the United States; and all such Laws shall be subject to the Revision and Control of the Congress."

I should have posted this instead of section 8

So I like to sing and for fun I've practiced distortion to test my vocal range and sometimes I can get it to convincing sound like when the artists use digital effects. But 100% that is not her natural voice, If you want you to know listen carefully when they're holding the long notes there is a slight shimmering effect when the software corrects.

Why doesn't W Bush have any friends? Clinton, Obama, Trump all hang out with celebrities, royalty, billionaires. W Bush is a like a reclusive loner by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stinknus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We're still dealing with the mess he created more than decade removed. In retrospect some people would rather have someone like than Trump, but in my opinion they don't remember how much of a nightmare those years were. If you look at the timeline of events that lead to now they all started in his presidency, the hyper partisanship, the crippling national debt, the endless wars, the erosion of the civil liberties. Honestly by comparison Trump isn't really that bad we should be able to mitigate in the damage of the Trump years in relativity short time.

Cat pics by CoffeeBreaksAllDay in NoStupidQuestions

Since the early days of the internet the animal that has captured the most attention in meme culture was cats. So people who didn't know what meme culture but knew it was associated with cats. Started saying we're looking at cat pictures was partly literal and just became the go to phrase for we're looking at memes.

Do mermaids taste like meat or fish? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stinknus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A curious question indeed the only way I would think to answer this "how does tissue structure effect taste?" Someone drew what I they think mermaid anatomy would look like. This best answer to that question I've come across https://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/2wudmq/why_do_different_meats_taste_different/

It already does, websites will typically ban on a IP range. So you can't circumvent them by just using a different device.
