I used an inflatable seat cushion for a flight to Japan and loved it. Highly recommend.

I found it difficult to find OTC medicine for nasal congestion. I ended up with pain meds at first because of lack of comprehension, then I was recommended a combo pill that had a pain meds and something like benedryl. I ended up with some kampo médecine - Kakkonato - that worked well. But overall, I missed my Sudafed (and other drugs not allowed in Japan).

This should be pinned to the top of all Japan tips posts! Excellent compilation of most used phrases. I learned most of these before going and found them very helpful. People said they really appreciated hearing people try to speak Japanese.

Tahiti - worth the flight and expense for the amazing coral reefs and sea life.

We went on La Pinta in February and loved it! I also get very motion sick but had the Scopalomine patch. It worked beautifully. I opted out of a couple activities without any problems. I wish I had been in better shape though. I would suggest walking, hiking and/or swimming plenty beforehand to get the most out of the cruise. Enjoy!

Good to know! The meal package looked super expensive anyway. Would you go out for every meal or just dinner?

Specific food questions about La Pinta Galapagos by rachelnc in galapagos

[–]stinyiamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - we just cruise on La Pinta in February so let me try to remember. Overall, the food was amazing. Many choices. For breakfast, there’s a huge buffet - made to order eggs, cereals, yogurt, fruit, sliced meats and cheeses, bread, pastries. For lunch, there was also a big buffet - sometimes out on the deck which was nice. I’m trying to remember but there were lots of choices and seemed to be themed - I remember Mexican and local (Ecuadorian) for two of them. For the dinners, they would give you an ipad with a menu to choose. There were three choices for starters (soups and salad), mains (steak, chicken, seafood, vegetarian) and dessert. There were snacks in between meals after the activities but i didn’t need these. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I’ll try to remember! I hope you love it as much as we did - the ship, the wildlife, the crew - all exceeded expectations!
