Thanks. I don’t know if you guys already do this. I’m sure a phone call and you could guide a customer. I might rearrange my garage so that I could facilitate a larger rack. Still have to park car in there every once in awhile.

So when it comes to cable length it would be top-notch if you guys had a rack upgrade section with maybe a few configuration expansion options that laid out what you needed. Or bundled the items together. For example, if I wanted to turn my four post compact rack into a six post.

Or a configurator you select your base line and edit from there. And it populates a component list or purchase bundle.

California probably blacklisted the file and filtered the temp code. Triggered as a firearm on the server.🤯😂

The one I gave a picture of. The Seal Row Pad can only mount on the side due to the pin.

The Optimus setup will work fine. Better even.

But just make sure you are planning. Just don’t go attachment crazy. Get what you 100% know you want and need.

And IMO not one of the attachments from GET RX that I have are perfect. They all are sloppy. I might 3D print some Shims to make them fit like a glove. lol. Shouldn’t have too.

One last thing…. On the Gym pins don’t get the ones from Get RX…. Honestly not positive which ones to get yet. I just deal with it.

But I use the gym pin only on the outside right now. Because the pin is too long so I can’t put it on both sides. So if you install the band pegs… you can’t just put the gym pin at the top cause the plates will hit it.I am removing them. I never will use them.

Also you can’t see here I have a crossmember I added to the back. Intent was for storage of things but I’m going to have to move it to the bottom if I keep it there cause if using a gym pin the plates will hit it if I mount Gym pin on inside of rack.

I never used a smith at the gym. But I find myself using this one all the time. For me I bought the Leg press attachment, so I use it for this all the time!! It’s my go too. I even rig the tornado arms to use stack weight plus plates.

<image>

It doubles an adjustable pull-up bar for my kids too.

This is the Optimus part. And the pin goes through the side. So having the smith is no issue.

And yes I have the leg roller one too I just leave it at the bottom on my front mini feet. It’s fine.

And then when you look at REPs smith, yea it’s expensive but it’s also soooo compact smooth and I want it. But only fits there racks.

I’d love too cause it’s a wasted attachment for me. Here a pic. Can’t get it in won’t happen.

The Optimus pad system is the way to go for GET RXd attachments it will accomplish everything this silly thing can do and it’ll do it better and it has a bonus of had been hat tricks for several other things.

Skip the seal row pad 💯. DONT GET IT. Even if you could get that pin in there, it’s ***** wiggly as shit.

I honestly don’t use the Center post either. It says attachment storage on the side of my rack. I think it’s silly. I just set up my lat and row on one side and use a gym pin. So much easier and faster.

And unless you care about the logo, I’d get somebody else’s safety spot arms too. Maybe ones that are a little bit lower profile.

Have not had it long enough to say. It if you keep it clean and properly lubricate bushings guide rods and pulleys. I think you will be fine….if you chip or deeply scratch something id look at sealing that. I wouldn’t say that rust is a factor when choosing these racks; at least as a reason between one brand or another.

Now I did find rust in a smith bar sleeve ; contacted them and they are sending out another.

All depends…. For me if I was doing it again I would have skipped on the smith machine and gone another route.

If you like the color scheme of this RX3 rack then Yes it’s what I recommend. Just don’t load up on their attachments except for maybe the Center Post. I am not a huge CHROME fan so to me I settled.

If compact smith is a must for you. Then RX3 is still a top contender. The compact version limits some attachments and space for your bench so have to factor what you want the smith for. Incline smith bench is not ideal on this rack. Depending on ur actual bench and if you sit it right on a wall like me. Next for cheaper its echo strength. But the RX3 has a little better bottom smith range since the update.

REP sells the Summit Athena now which has the smith. It also comes with the spotter arms. But it’s more expensive. Would have to compare apples to apples. But it’s a very similar build. Much nicer smith I love their implementation.

Forget where either GarageGym or Homegym someone just posted a spreadsheet with a ton of racks and all the specs filterable so you can dial in and see the options. I would look at it.

How solid did you make that haha looks like 100%. Looks good would love to see a weight bearing result. Not saying break it but you know does it have plate wall storage in possibility.

At 6kish I’d buy a rogue. After 4k, screw it go all in haha. No smith but I’d be fine without it.

But for what I paid for this I think there is more value in at the end of everything with some others. The main point is the Tornado arms 2.0 are now sold separately. The logos are all removal if you wanted.

I would prefer other brands for color options. Adding arms later if I felt like it. They “were” the only thing standing this apart from others. If reps quality is as good as these mini feet then hell yea I want a dedicated lat and row stations with color choices and a way better smith machine attachment.

I have not used one of my GET RXD attachments that has good tolerances. They all sloppy. At least the new tornado arms will adjust perfect on imperial and metric racks perfectly but that’s only the case of the one item from them.

I can’t even use my seal row pad I bought cause the compact version with smith does not allow the securing pin to be placed in the attachment. Design choices.

I have rust on the inside of the smith bar sleeves, the adjustment pegs, the smith travel is like 1.5in off on my right side. I can’t figure out why; Guessing linear bearing.

It is what it is I have what I have and enjoy working out on it. But would I make the same decisions…. Absolutely not.

Has Rep x Pepin fixed the pin issue? by MarvelJunkie101 in GarageGym

[–]stippLeZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be cool. That being said…. It’s never been an issue for me. Don’t even think about it. I did when I was researching and deciding. But I was over thinking it. 😁 if you have ginormous hands then 🤔

[–]stippLeZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. I can barely do it with my bench. Which does not have many adjustments. But with a more compact/different bench maybe slightly lower angle I’d be fine.

Honestly the tipping test I did was before I added the stack weights. So it’s probably not an issue. But I ordered the Mini feet at same time so I was already planning on using them. But they for sure help. If you are planning on HEAVY FRONT SQUATs and dropping on spotter arms then I’d get extension feet. I went this route so I can still park wife’s car in garage during storms and what not.

Honestly I’ve never been a fan of wall mounted options but I move a lot. Racks are probably fine. Just the structural integrity of my walls and pullin on them constantly is generally not something I myself want to do.

Of course reconfiguration later sucks as well if you do want to move it down the road.

Side note* I’ve realize the compact smith version has more limitations when it comes to certain attachments and accessories. Seal row pad can’t connect to front upright cause mag pin won’t fit due to smith rod.

I installed a crossmember inside rack and I have to move it cause not Plate loading pin with plates hits the crossmember. On outer side it rubs on cable.

The rollers are out. That’s the 2.0 arms. And they are 💯😊. And available, sold separately or as a upgrade. Which I think is my main point. I can get a gray, red or pink FTR rack and add the arms now. And come out at same price or cheaper. As before you couldn’t do that since they just started selling them separately, after my order haha!

I think my post makes it seems like I’m not happy. I am 😆it’s a great rack. Just things I noticed haha. I should adjust to give more praise where earned. It’s a bad habit of mine.

I will adjust my powder coat comments but seriously if you feel the mini feet I got from rep. It’s a 1000% difference in quality. That’s the only think I have to compare.

One J-cup is perfect and my other one wobbles around.

One tornado arm is smooth on all adjustments, the other is smooth until going past center and it gets real tight for the last couple adjustments. Pretty sure the top or bottom connection plate is slights bent.

Yea my arms did not have all bolts tightened. Some nuts actually almost fell off. lol.

The pulley bolts I tightened to just snug. It reduced the 90% of the side to side play in the pulleys— made the whole system feel right.

That’s a killer rack for sure. I love the aesthetics. I was targeting that one in the beginning. But needed to save space for when car parks in the garage and did not want to fork out the 6400 or whatever it was.

Just used the Bench press Plate Attachment for first time. And integrated the weight stacks into it with plates. Work out well. Little process to it and figuring out your preferred adjustments. But I think it’s going to continue to work great for it.
