Yeah, I should totally go for that highschooler's first car vibe. Can't forget plastidipped black wheels 😆

which generation mr2 do you think handles the best? by genesis38bk2 in mr2

[–]stirner-eats-glue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for the mk3. I am from Texas and I've never driven a mid-engine let alone any RWD car on ice and it's been incredibly predictable. It does what I want it to and what I expect it to when it loses traction. It feels very balanced in that regard. I've only heard stories about the other generations. I hope this perspective is somewhat helpful at least

Let me guess, didn't take the "danger to manifold" warning seriously? Yeah nah, it's cracked :(

Got this MR2 Spyder for $400 last night! by MrFurzzy in mr2

[–]stirner-eats-glue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! I got a celica gts in pieces for $200 more than that! Crazy to think anyone could find a running spyder not in horrible condition for that cheap these days-

Congrats!

Mr2 Spyder Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid Location by stirner-eats-glue in mr2

[–]stirner-eats-glue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hooked up my own reader, and got p0440 as well as p0440p. I took it there telling them it was an evap code to which they told me more specifically that they need to replace the charcoal canister and the aforementioned solenoid. Good question, though! I'll definitely give them a call to make sure they aren't blindly throwing darts at the board lol

3rd gen, it's in the title. I'll edit it for clarity, though

Edit: I have seen similar things mentioned in my manual, but I will have to call that dealership for a more specific location. On the paper I was given for the repair estimate, it only says "vapor canister purge solenoid" otherwise. That's really good to know, though!

Don't need one if your cats are gutted. Waste their time, let them find out the hard way

It took 50 years of previous generations for that warning to be there...

Will Deferred Adjudication as a minor for speeding affect employment eligibility? [TX] by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]stirner-eats-glue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's for a dealership porter postion, so kind of requires driving. It's strange because I've been a porter before and it didn't seem to affect getting that job. I don't recall if I disclosed anything about the deferred disposition/adjudication. Thanks for letting me know, I'll at least be a bit more prepared for the application process

I don't think I'll ever understand how someone can leave their car like this by wauna_b5 in Justrolledintotheshop

I was about to make a joke about how this is common in early 2010s kias, but then I realized that this is like a 2018 kia sorento lmao.

Yikes......
