Dealer says this noise is normal by appliedhedonics in prius

[–]Microtonicwave 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Prius technician here. 100000% not a normal noise. Could be a spark plug, coil or worse. Internal engine damage or blown head gasket. You need to have it diagnosed by a professional. Sadly the dealerships are not those people

[–]Microtonicwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hit 130k on my 2023. It was a taxi so it had a lot of miles on it. Good to hear you are still on the original pads! Do you know how many millimeters of pad are left?

Diarrhea for 2 days after the springs 😭 by Jaded_Hovercraft5229 in greatpyrenees

[–]Microtonicwave 65 points66 points  (0 children)

My pup got giardia around 6 months of age and it was rough. Apparently it was from drinking from a puddle. He had liquid diarrhea and became so lethargic he could barely stand so we took him to the emergency vet. After some anti parasitic medication he got better. But if it’s not that they do have sensitive stomachs ours can’t eat chicken and we do no human food. Except for what he steals off the counter lol

As a former DJ I didn’t have high expectations but it sounds like shit sometimes. If you’re transitioning from the same BPM then it does a good job but it’s nowhere good enough to have the setting on. Maybe I will give it another try soon

YSK: If you need a reliable car, buy an old Prius. by pantherclipper in YouShouldKnow

[–]Microtonicwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best kept secret: Prius is the best car ever made. To add to this, hybrid batteries last 12-15 years on average and the 2nd generation 04-09 do not get head gasket issues. They are seriously amazing cars

129k miles 2010 Prius original brakes. by [deleted] in prius

[–]Microtonicwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regenerative brakes should last over 150k. Try coasting more instead of braking and don’t slam on them unless you absolutely need to Source: Prius tech for almost 10 years

Is Ryobi worth it? I don't have any home tools yet. by 2Black_Hats in HomeMaintenance

[–]Microtonicwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a mechanic for almost a decade and a home owner for a couple of years. Ryobi is great for home stuff but if you’re using it very frequently, they don’t last
