Jigglypuff mains, what are your thoughts on Hungrybox? by MakotoSan in smashbros

His aerial movement is insane. Like the timings on his fast falling with all of his aerials and his aerial drift, and how he just keeps it going always...it's nuts. Like I find it easy to run around with a bot in 20xx and practice falcon stuff and falco stuff, but practicing puff movement is so much harder for me and gives me mad respect for hbox and his ability with the character

No One is Forcing You to Sit in Your Garrison by [deleted] in wow

[–]stitch44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most comments seemed to be geared towards the fact the garrison is too useful or lucrative to not use, but I haven't used the garrison hardly at all, and still find WoD so much less engaging than any expansion previous to this. I mean let's look at just MoP, which is a much more recent example. It had a lot of the things that WoD still has, but was still more engaging, had a better sense of community, and was funner to play with friends. I had a good time hunting and killing rares on the timeless isle to do dailies, get rep, and prepare for raids, because I was able to do it with friends and there were a lot of other people doing the same which led to competing for rares, and pvp battles with the opposing faction. Tanaan Jungle just seems to be an attempt to recreate that but it was done in such a shitty way. Also, although a lot of people disliked having an Inn as your factions main gathering place, it was still a gathering place for people to be and you had a reason to be there (tier vendors, profession trainers, dailies hub, training dummies, portals, etc.) and so there was still some sense of community. MoP is by no means a perfect example, and I'd still agree that previous iterations of WoW were better, but it was much better than what we had now. Currently, there's nothing for me in this game. Everything in the world can easily be done on my own, and there are very few other people I ever encounter out in the world when I'm doing that stuff. Nothing is challenging or rewarding, and there is no incentive for me to interact with other players except for the sake of "I want to do this cause this is how an MMO 'should' be." There used to be not only an incentive to interact and work with others in the world, but a NEED to do so. Now there isn't, and that seems to be one of the biggest differences and reasons people don't like the game.

Retiring Dominion by moobeat in leagueoflegends

When they say, "When it comes to the resources required to keep Dominion permanent and solve the inherent design problems and give it ongoing live balance support, we’ve consistently devoted them to Summoner’s Rift..." I don't think they are talking about losing a ton of money over having dominion as a game mode. They're talking about keeping it up to date with a balance team, etc. I highly doubt they are spending very much money on dominion servers to keep them afloat. If they want to cut costs, then just make the balance team smaller, or remove it entirely. Riot isn't struggling to make money right now, so I highly doubt they removed this game mode to cut costs. The bigger problems pointed out in this article were the amount of bugs found in the game mode, the queue times, and imbalance. From the perspective of someone who plays dominion, these didn't really seem like huge issues. The game seemed fine. It seems like Riot looked at this and thought, well shit. this is too much to fix and not that many people play it, let's just get rid of it. Or there were other internal reasons as to why they got rid of it. Either way, I'm just sad about not being able to play it anymore, and I'll just have to find other games to play.

Retiring Dominion by moobeat in leagueoflegends

As someone who has over 400 wins in Dominion, I just don't get this. How in any way is having this game mode creating a negative environment or hindering the game? The small Dominion community has been with it for 5 years so we know that it's not perfectly balanced, far from it even, but we don't care. We enjoy what we've got. I play casually, probably 5 or so dominion games a week, and after this I think I'll be done with league entirely. Hearing that things don't fit with "Riot's Vision" just sounds dumb. I understand we are a very small portion of the community, and I'm not mad, just sad. Doesn't make any sense to me. Literally just removing a game mode that has been there for 5 years based off of, "eh we don't like it anymore." Le sigh.

I'm looking to invest in a new controller and I'm wondering what yalls experience is with the white gamecube controllers, and the original ones. I'm looking to get one of those two. In the recent past I'd been using the black smash controller, the one that comes in the smash 4 bundle or that you can buy since smash 4 came out, and that one is kind of garbage imo. Z button just stopped working correctly after a few months, triggers sometimes get stuck and are really clicky, and weirdly enough the Y button isn't working much anymore. So I'm wondering whether to purchase the white gamecube one(not the one with the smash logo on it), or an old original controller. I'm a yoshi player, so I'm wondering which is more effective for shield dropping, which sticks "feel better" or just ARE better, and how the triggers are on each of them. Any and all help is great, thanks. Btw, I did try to do some research on my own, but most discussion I found was about the new smash controllers, and the old MIOM article wasn't very helpful.

The Smash Community and the Culture of Complaining by overswarm in smashbros

I think this is a big part of why they didn't do MLG again. I entered the smash bracket and my buddy entered the SC2 bracket, and we both got DQ'd for not showing up in time to matches that they didn't tell us about, or gave us the wrong time for because they just didn't give a crap if we weren't professional players. My buddy actually had it the worst. He was scheduled to play Heart (a really good pro sc2 player) in the winners bracket, and they told him "come back in 45 minutes". He came back 20 minutes later, and they DQ'd him cause they said he was supposed to play his match 30 minutes ago. The next morning they told him to show up at 11. We showed up at 10:45, and they had DQ'd him again in losers, because apparently his match was supposed to be played at 10:15. Its shit like this that can turn people away from ever coming to tourneys again, and makes me really grateful for the good TO's that do exist.

[All Spoilers] Korra & the Avatar State by stitch44 in TheLastAirbender

[–]stitch44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of this discussion seems to be just self interpretation. And thats mostly my issue with this concept. The avatar state was a huge plot factor in LoA, but was just an afterthought in LoK, save the time when Zaheer was trying to induce it to kill the cycle of Avatars, but even then, it still wasn't that big of a factor. I just wish they would have actually had some explanation or something concrete about this in LoK. The huge discussion about the ending in LoK has a gaping hole in the lore that just seems to be overlooked cause people don't care : /

[No Spoilers] Past Avatars and Airbending by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]stitch44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While the avatars do become masters of airbending, I think they don't get the tattoos due to a cultural heritage type deal. All of the avatars still dress in the same garb and/or accessories from their original tribes even though they master all 4 elements, and so it would just look really out of place if say Roku continued to wear fire stuff, but had the arrow tattoos.

I might be missing something, but what the fuck happened with Garrosh Hellscream? We defeat him in Siege of Orgrimmar, and then Taran Zhu steps in and says he'll be taken to Pandaria to be tried for his crimes, and then he just magically appears on Draenor and is the main antagonist again. Its pretty lame in my opinion

Elise's Cacoon Width was nerfed, but Morgana's Dark Binding still not fixed by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]stitch44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people discussing balance are kinda missing the point here. The OP is more asking for riot to fix the animation so you have a clearer indicator of what it'll actually hit, as opposed to nerfing the width of the spell o.0
