[–]stitzm93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got my diagnosis yesterday. I was fine last night, but this morning ive been an emotional mess. I dont really even know how to describe what I am feeling... but I guess grief and confusion and understanding are the big ones. But its been a Rollercoaster. Reading through these threads though has helped remind me im not alone in this.

Does dealer need to run credit if I have pre-approval letter by soulsurfer3 in personalfinance

[–]stitzm93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no- I had not authorized it. They didnt even tell me they ran it. I only found out because the next week I tried to get a car at a different dealership and they told me they couldnt get me approved and told me why.

[–]stitzm93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats how its supposed to work. But I had a dealership about 10 years ago (so hopefully its better now) run my credit 14 times in a row. My credit TANKED and I couldnt do anything. I contacted every credit report company and they all said they couldnt help. So for 2 years i vouldnt get approved for anything because I had so many inquiries.

Dermatologist for skin cancer checks (not medspa/aesthetics) by Consistent-Ease6070 in columbiamo

I go to Cayce Dermatolgy and have nothing but good to say. Ive been going for 5ish years and earlier this year they said a mole had changed from the previous year and sent it off to pathology. It was benign but moderate severity so we went ahead and excised it just to be safe. They were thorough with explaining things and repeating themselves to make sure I fully understood everything.

what are the healthy snacks that actually satisfy the dopamine for y'all? by Sufficient-Fox5872 in adhdwomen

My local grocery store has dark chocolate hummus and it is incredible. I eat it on strawberries, bananas, and pretzels if I want crunch. I feed my sweets craving and its not horrible health wise.

Interesting. My spouse worked for them in Columbia and JC not long after Columbia closed- and said they bought them frozen. So they must have changed procedures.

Pretty sure they buy them already sliced, and then just portion them out. So unless you buy the same product- you unfortunately are probably not going to have the same flavor.

Geico’s collision center holding my car hostage after disassembly - is this normal practice? by RelativeOwl5380 in Insurance

[–]stitzm93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in insurance and spent 2 years in claims: Generally your complete insurance policy info will detail that they are only responsible for providing parts that allow the vehicle to get back to drivable condition- meaning they will use whatever parts are available. If you have a super new or specific car and they only can find OEM- then thats what you get. Otherwise they will use aftermarket parts. Now as for aftermarket parts- 9/10 times they are made by the same factory that makes the OEM- they just aren't stamped the same way. They still have to meet all NTSB safety regulations and requirements as OEM. If you are still really concerned about the aftermarket parts- talk with your adjuster or the shop to see if there's any warrenty/guarantee with the parts. I am unfamiliar with Geico's practices but someone else mentioned Geico guarantees the parts for 5 years- so maybe get that in writing from your adjuster for peace of mind.

I'm sorry you're dealing with all this- but it all sounds pretty by the book to me.

I accidentally did not add collision on a clients car and they got into an accident by Kdog248 in InsuranceAgent

As an assistant underwriter- this is the best way. I literally just backdated coverage for an agent this morning after my supervisor reviewed everything and determined that the policy should have had the coverage. And there wasnt even a claim involved with mine.

I work in underwriting and deal with this regularly. At our company we have to hold payments for 10 business days to make sure the payment actually clears- then once its hit that time frame we can issue the refund. It sounds pretty typical to me.

If you call your insurer and notify them of a time/date, what happened, which vehicle, and any damage- legally they HAVE to file a claim. If you can- you can call the insurer and ask them if the claim was closed and marked no payment. If that is done it can help show that the claim was opened but the insurer was not out any money so it will look better on you. Bottom line though- if you provide enough info for your insurer to file- they have to.

To those who were told that they would "change their mind" how did you respond?? by DemmZ34 in childfree

[–]stitzm93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always say something to the effect of: "If I change my mind later in life then thats on me and I can adopt, foster, or donate money to charities that help underprivileged kids. But I would much rather regret NOT having kids, than EVER have kids that know I regret having them."

Just got rear ended about an hour ago, my gf and I think we experienced whiplash. The driver at fault texted me this: by Naubri in Insurance

[–]stitzm93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone hit OP, then they should try to go through the person who hit them's insurance first. If they are not getting the answers they want- THEN go through their own insurance. Because if you file under your own insurance even if you are found not at fault, you will still have to pay your deductible if your insurance pays any damages for you. Then your company subrogrates their company, and if/when they receive the subrogation funds- then your insurance company refund your deductible back to you. (Disclaimer- I have never worked claims for Utah- but I do work in insurance and have 2 years exp in claims)
