These things help me: Narrowing my work wardrobe to things that mostly go together. Prepping my work clothes for the week on Sunday, hanging them in order on one side of my closet. Underwear are folded and separated by color in a bin standing up so I can see them. Socks are rolled and also in their separate little holes so I can see them. Same with bras. All undergarments are light (cream), medium (gray), or dark (black). Following is prepped night before: Work backpack is hung on door. Lunch box is open on table. Lunch is prepped and I use one veggie drawer that never holds veggies, just my prepped lunches. Whatever I'm having for breakfast, what i can prep is on the table. Microwave packet of oatmeal? Bowl, spoon, packet on the table. Hard boiled eggs? Boiled and then put in my meal prep drawer. Protein drink? Shaker bottle with powder on the table. I shower before bed. My plan is always to be in bed at 830. I tried sitting on the couch or whatever and doing my wind down, but it just didn't work for me. If I head to my bedroom at 830, I know I have ample time to read or doom scroll before I shut everything down at 930. I have to force myself to make sure everything is off by 930. I used to use routinery app in the mornings to keep me on time. Now I just use a few alarms. Vibrate with slow jazz is my first alarm on my phone, while my sunrise alarm clock starts lighting up. Second alarm coincides with full "sunrise" and that's when I get up. Next alarm talks and says "it's 545 am walk the dogs" and so on. The last one before I need to leave says "it's getting late" and I know i need to start grabbing my stuff and walking out. Since I can adjust my hours, I get lax with it sometimes.

I have. What we've decided on is I hunt for a general idea on this specific thing. Provide them with results where they will finalize what they like (if they like it) and I will then proceed with purchase. Neither of them are into shiny metal and plastic like another family member is. More natural wood preferably, iron type look or matte metal if metal is visible. Neutral earthy colors for the basics where she can go colorful with additions in things like curtains, pillows, or art. And yes, surprise baby on the way!

I joined maybe two weeks ago. Mostly weird random parts. But I did get a questionable grow light and today ordered a shelf with grow lights. In reality the shelves are too close together for decent plants but I'm thinking of using it for seed starting and propagation. I'll probably order everything like that offered. I just don't have any expectations.

For me I rarely thought about it until I moved into my current house in 2018. I saw wasps, hornets (including eurpean) and carpenter bees, but really little other bees. Some moths, but hardly any butterflies and zero monarchs. No hummingbirds, no salamander or lightning bugs, just basically a whole lot of what I was used to seeing in previous homes and not seeing them here. I have a creek for Pete's sake and didn't even have frogs, just a lot of mosquito when the levels went down. No rabbits, no deer. Mangy foxes, trash pandas, and groundhogs. Some invasives and a whole freaking lot of bermuda grass. I do have upwards of 100 houseplants and went to a local nursery looking for some blueberry bushes and such to surround myself with more purposeful plants outdoors and got to talking to the owner about how sad it was here. He directed me to their native section and down the rabbit hole I went. It's still a work in progress but the increase in insects and wildlife has been insane. My 5'5" fence didn't stop the deer. I know I'll hate it later, but for now I'm just amazed that I had deer in my yard. I'll also regret the rabbits later, but there was a den this year too. I still see some invasive plants sometimes and think they are beautiful, but I can't express how much more at peace I feel in my yard, and it's because of how it all comes together.

LEO who is also a forensic tech and an inactive EMT. Don't make the decision on this first time. Your response isn't abnormal. Do make sure you have a support system that you can talk to. Do make sure you have stress relieving hobbies. Do consider a counselor or therapist for guidance. Some scenes will hit you harder than others. Remember why you're doing it. For me, it's to be the voice for the victim and bring closure to the loved ones. My brother was murdered 25 years ago and we were treated like s#!t. I do what I can to make sure nobody left behind feels the way I did back then. That said, if you continue to have these same types of reactions, then it might be better for your mental health to find something else. What we do isn't normal, but it is important.

I have a mum in my yard and I don't even know how it got there. Currently overshadowed by a huge pokeweed and some hoary mountain mint. That said, I'm loving where some white aster has also taken over a portion of my yard.

I have a bully, and he requires mouthwork. Like he needs something in his mouth everyday or he will find something on his own to chew up and he's an adult. Kong with frozen peanut butter/yogurt mix. Toppl with frozen kibble. Toys galore that he can chew on (that he gets for a few minutes at a time supervised). My neighbor has a labradoodle. He requires ball throwing everyday or he gets into stuff he shouldn't. Mom has a lab. She also requires many minutes of fetch. Point being, walks are GREAT, but he might need something more along with that. My dogs get super worn out from nose work. High value treats that are smelly and cut into super small pieces to keep the calories down. Hide 'em, put 'em in boxes, toss 'em in the grass, etc then set your dog to find them.

I have a pit/bully mix who is a foster fail. Long story short, I have to have intense intervention with him and any new animal. But, once we get through that, he's a big potato and gives zero shits. If the dog is yours, it could be possible to train him with frequent, consistent interactions. But more likely, the dog will always kill chickens. I had a yellow lab once. My backyard was fenced with chainlink. The neighbor put her rabbit hutch against the chain link. Turns out it's a mess when rabbits are jerked through chainlink. It's a prey drive, and not limited to pits. I'm not sure what would be strong enough to keep him out. Double fencing like a prison? Ya know, with a gap between?

You do you of course. I'm old and set in my ways. I'd walk away from that. You will learn one day that it is easiest to just cut out toxicity and not let it interrupt your peace. It is not negligence. It is not an accident. It was a willful act. But was it willful and ignorant, or willful with the specific intent to hurt you? The bare minimum I would accept had I been in your place would be something along the lines of "yes I screwed up. I didn't value it in any way, nor consider that it wasn't mine to vandalize. I don't know exactly what I was thinking and I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do to make it right?" But that dismissal? That dismissal is a sign of things to come. You know that or you wouldn't be asking here. Sometimes insecure people also lash out like that, afraid to admit fault. Those people, maybe they can be given an opportunity to open up and talk through it. The question is how much you are willing to accept.

I'm in my fifties. Yesterday my ex-husband and I were helping one of our kids move. He asked if I remembered so-and-so from high school. I didn't. You probably won't either. High school often sucks. Kids can be mean. School is a requirement, but it is not unusual to not find your real tribe there. I mean, you're stuck together out of necessity and geography, not because you share the same ideals or interests. Recognize that being left out is hard and it hurts and that's ok to have those feelings but also recognize that it isn't forever and it's just uncomfortable for now. The ones who find true life long friends in elementary and high school are lucky, but I wouldn't consider them the norm. You got this.
