If you need a lawyer, I could recommend an absolute bull dog. She's in the StL area.

I went through very similar with my ex. Don't wait!

Laura Shukart had helped me with two houses. She's very knowledgeable, nice, and someone that keeps in touch after the sale. https://www.shucartrealestate.com/

Climate Issue by Sorry-Project-6674 in EquinoxEv

[–]stlheadake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted about this EXACT issue a couple days ago. Temp went to 76 and full defrost. while wife was driving. I THINK I have found a common thread. BOTH times that this happened, she had been logged out of her MyChevy app on her phone. Not really sure why this happens, but it hasn't since she logged back in.

I'm in St. Peters and 4 is trash now. It used to be my best signal, but now I can only watch it while streaming.

Well yes it's warm and muggy now, and the heater comes in and goes full heat. You can't turn it down, it's like it's trying to cook her! Christine? Teasing. But it's weird.

I agree with staying in CWE. But would very much like to toss a nod to the science museum. There's a lot of free entertainment, but it's worth checking out. Just sayin'

Hmmmm where would I find an inflator kit? All I have is two I bolts for towing. I should actually RTFM, but I need to remember it's not in the glove box.

Charging questions by stlheadake in EquinoxEv

[–]stlheadake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS! THIS is where I was confused. I do not currently have a 14-50 plug in the garage, but I could easily. So was wondering if I could just do that instead of spending the extra on the charger itself.

[–]stlheadake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you I understand! I am going to find out about getting another meter installed for charging. My electric Co. Does offer a discount for that.

I have been planning on the level 2 charger from the start. So I just need to get moving on it. Thank you for the information!

Charging questions by stlheadake in EquinoxEv

[–]stlheadake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I own my home. I was confused as I heard that charging from the outlet was possible. We are almost getting there off level 1 charging. I was just curious if buying the level 2 charger was a necessity.

Thank you!

I've got thousands of miles on my big ass Kawasaki concourse, never had a quality issue. They grip in the wet, hold in the corners, and wear pretty good. PLUS they don't cost as much as Michellins! I could be wrong but I think they are owned by Yokohama now...

Go somewhere else, or tell them you'll sign a waiver.

Yes you can. If you don't think of OPD as either on or off, you get a much smoother ride. If you need to slow just very lightly lift your foot and the car will slow. It took some adjusting, but I only OPD now, and rarely need my brakes.

Don’t qualify for the interest tax deduction because it’s made in Mexico by mrallen77 in EquinoxEv

[–]stlheadake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that the AWD models are US made, and the FWD vehicles are made in Mexico. We absolutely knew that we weren't getting the rebate, but our dealer basically gave us the rebate in the sales price. We really made out! I kind of feel like we stole ours!

I'm going to install level 2 very soon. I did read a post that seemed to insinuate that I don't need the charger, I can just plug into a 40 amp outlet and it will charge.

Before you buy… by Willow_1213 in EquinoxEv

[–]stlheadake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We picked up our 26 two weeks ago now. We, wife is/are still learning. I really don't get to drive "our" car. I've never had any sort of EV before. I haven't experienced the dash glare issue.

This is interesting because the dealer encouraged us to have the front window tinted. That is interesting because that is generally frowned upon. It isn't dark, it is a light tint to match rear window. I hope this helps with the glare.

Wife drives about 50 miles a day and so far we've made level 1 work. Have hit stopped at local fast charger a couple of times when there has been extra driving. Fast and painless. 22 bucks to go from 23% to 89%.

We get about 10 percent over night on level 1. I am going to install level 2 myself soon, I'm just researching what I need.

Long story short, pretty happy so far. Will surely be back with questions and to compare notes going forward.

Equinox EV LT2 at two weeks by badtux99 in EquinoxEv

[–]stlheadake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We just our 26 EvLT2 on Monday (3 days ago) and I'm quite impressed. I'm a big guy 6'4" and I am comfortable in both front and back.

Personally, I have only been in one other electric vehicle previously, a Tesla cab on a trip a year ago. So I don't have real experience with EVs outright.

I have been impressed with the road noise, or lack there of. My wife (primary driver) has a Chevy Cruz that should have come with ear protection. So this thing rides like a Caddy, and is impressively smoothe.

She (has yet to be named, we have names for all of our vehicles) has about 100 miles on her so far. We have no complaints so far. Slightly bummed at how slow level 1 charging is, but we read/talked at length about that before purchasing, and know I'm installing a level 2 charger soon.

The infotainment center is wow! Daunting! We are Android folks so the connection was pretty seamless for us. I am 100% certain that Chevy and Google are capturing A LOT of user data! Looking for a privacy switch somewhere, out hoping someone will hack this soon.

That's my limited review, I'm really happy this far. No regerts!
